    Hi Guys

Curious to see what others have seen in terms of raises in public accounting within the audit service line? I started right out of college & work at a top 10 firm currently in one of the larger market areas.

    First Year – $54,000
    Second Year – $58,000(7.41%)
    Senior 1 – $65,000(12.07%)
    Senior 2 – $71,000 (9.23%)
Senior 3 – $???? will find out in the next couple weeks

I'm curious, is your attaining the CPA involved in one of these raises (assuming you've gotten it)?

I work for a small regional firm that specializes in local governments and non profits. I’m almost at 4 years with the firm now I started at $44.5k and I now make $48.2k if I pass the CPA I will make $50.2k. I have not been promoted to senior yet. 😞

I'm in the Philadelphia market. I passed my CPA the first year I started, no raise but I did receive a $5,000 bonus.

From my understanding, most large firms do not allow promotion to Senior unless you are licensed.

Location is very important but just curious to see what other people are making in the US at the same levels. From my experience, I've seen most firms allow to you be a senior without the CPA but will not allow promotion to manager without it.

My firm will allow you to get to supervisor without a CPA, but you can’t get past that. I just started there 2 weeks ago, and I’m a level II staff. I started at $62k with a $3k signing bonus in the STL area. Mid size. I hope to make senior next year, but wanted to get my feet wet so came in at a lower level than I probably could have.

Previously I was at a smaller firm for 4 years, started at $38k and left at $48k.

The only way to get a big raise is jump to a different firm… networking with your old colleagues who quit and see if they have any opportunities… Good Luck to you!
