Since I haven’t experienced any one of it, I only have images of these jobs and don’t really know which one I will have a good fit.

I first wanted to go audit because I can learn different industries and it has good exit opportunities

but I’m also thinking about tax because I might fit well (you never know) with tax than audit and I’m very open to studying law (for unknown reason).

(plus I actually did well on tax than audit during my undergraduate lol)

Since I know pros, cons of audit side, I really want to hear more about tax and figure out which one I would fit better.

What I have heard so far is that tax is

    -less traveling

    -more $$$

-but might get stuck in tax for the entire life

What grades you got in college doesn't predict how you'll do in the outside world.

I know a lawyer (retired) who took the tax route and one who took the audit route. Law works either way.

    AUD - 99
    BEC - 83
    FAR - 86
    REG - 92
    California - Internal Audit

    CPA since December 2016.

(took seven tries, 1 year 10 months).

    AUD - 74, 99 !!
    REG - 74, 92
    BEC - 83
    FAR - 73, 86

I spent 3 years in Big 4 tax and can tell you that I travelled more than anyone I knew in audit. Totally depends on your office, clients, needs of the firm at that time, etc. I have found that the typical stereotypes regarding personalities of auditors and tax folk are completely overblown. Are there some personality things in play? Sure – but it is very minimal in my opinion.
