The feeling of receiving your first Big 4 Tax offer in an excellent Midwest city is amazing. I am so happy! Life has never been better 🙂

Cumulative GPA: 3.47, average state school, 150 credits by May 2016.

I got the verbal offer while I was driving home from my office visit last Friday, less than an hour after I left the office. I received the formal offer today, and I will be accepting it soon. In my opinion, I have average credentials, and below average for the typical Big 4 intern. How is it that people with 3.8+ GPA and every extracurricular in the book don’t even make second round yet someone like me with below average credentials somehow gets an offer?

Regardless, I’m going to relax and enjoy my last 1.75 years in college before life gets real.

Just to be clear, no one jumped on me or anything. There was no “drama.” Another poster made a thread that was essentially a question directed only at me, which I felt was sort of unnecessary since I am in no way verified or credentialed by the site. However, apparently this forum doesn't have direct message capabilities. Regardless, I responded and basically said tread carefully and take anything read on the internet with a grain of salt. Then the thread mysteriously disappeared without a single word lol. I just hate that kinda stuff when it comes to forum mods.

Anyway, I'll jump in when I have something worthy to add here or there, I just don't want anyone to think I am the end all be all of big 4 recruiting when in reality I can only represent a single office in a single area and their practices – and I can't even tell you which office or where so you can't verify a thing I say haha. I do enjoy shedding some light on some of these things because it's obvious a lot of people have NO CLUE what the recruiting side is, but on the other hand I have to tread carefully so I in no way cast any unwanted light or misrepresent something.

Either way, this thread's title still sucks. =P
