Your Preparation Time for BEC

I am taking FAR on December 2nd. I wanted to do it in November but the testing center has zero appointments left that month. Assuming I pass, I would do BEC next. I am using Roger right now. I’ve heard his BEC materials are the weakest of the 4 modules (although some parts of his FAR aren’t great either). The BEC book is quite thin though, so I’m thinking I can probably prepare for it and take the test within 3 months. I know some people study for this part for only a few weeks and pass. I’m curious to know how long the average person takes to study for BEC. I want to get it, and FAR, out of the way before the new format changes. If I flunk FAR, I have one more shot at it. Not planning to fail but with the test getting generally harder with every passing day…. I was looking at the stats and BEC has a pass rate of about 56%, an average of 10-12% higher than the other sections.

I will concur that Roger's questions for BEC are not the best. However, I have seen many people pass with JUST his material. I would honestly shell out $47 for NINJA, it's worth it. I passed it with just those 2. Looking back honestly, I was NOT very efficient with BEC. I spread the material out too much and gave myself too much time. You can prepare for BEC in like 3 weeks if you tried really hard and wanted to get it over with. There are only 7 chapters.

It really depends on the person. But a month should be sufficient to prepare for BEC. Start doing MCQs everyday to retain.

@hasy I am actually glad that I'm having to do FAR on December 2nd and not in November. I'm going to need the next few months to be totally ready for it. And yes, I will be getting some of the Ninja materials as well. I work 30-60 MCQs every day (Roger's). I think his FAR materials are generally pretty good although I haven't seen any others except Gleim's, which are harder. It seem like none of the review courses are anywhere close to perfect; they all have their flaws. It seems like everyone has a different experience with BEC. Some say it's easy, others say it's crazy and/or just as hard as the other three.
