Okay everyone, this will seem like a strange question but…
As everyone who has taken an exam already knows, the people who work at Prometric have you manually write down your launch code on your scrap piece of paper…and then at the beginning of the CPA exam, they have you manually type in your launch code on the computer.
While doing this, I have been worried about “What if I just typed in the number incorrectly? Then NASBA would never get my scores, and I could’ve just failed this exam before it even started!”
Now, I feel like Prometric already has our launch code in their system when we register for it? So I’d imagine if you were to type in the incorrect launch code, an alert might come up that says somthing along the lines of “this launch code differs from the one we have on record, please retry”?
Does anybody have any comments or experiences relevant to this? I realize it is silly, and an easy answer would be “Just don’t type the number in wrong!”, but I wonder if prometric has some sort of control in place to prevent a situation like that?
