Okay, been a while since i posted, or even thought about the exam. Hell, after passing, I never wanted to think about it again.

However, I have a friend working on here CPA, just took FAR in qtr 4 2016. Says she has a Dec. 8 score release.

Do they still release the scores a day earlier than advertised. Or is it actually on Dec. 8th now?

Also, just read that 2017 Qtr 2, will have a 10 week long period after the close of the window for a single score release. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt that mean that IF you fail, you wont know it until you are 3/4ths through the next window, I mean, that is an august 9th release for the 2nd qtr????

Definitely don't release early and if they do it is only a few minutes.

They set the date of August 14th score release for Q2 results. Very annoying but I guess there's not much we can do about it.

I complain enough about having to wait almost two weeks for a score, but 10!!!

No those early releases stopped about 2 years ago. And waiting 10 weeks for a score is a bummer but almost forces you to move on to the next section. Its not a big deal (all score releases were about that long a few years ago) unless you're waiting for your LAST score then its a bummer.

The REAL bummer will be if I fail FAR in Q1 2017, then I will lose REG Jan 31, 2017. I can retake REG and FAR in Q2, but I will also lose BEC (or not depending on 2 exam scores) before I get my scores in Aug 2017. I’m exhausted just thinking about that scenario. -_-

Man, I am glad its not me, but that really sucks. I mean, I never moved on to the next section until I knew I had passed the prior section. But you are right, waiting 10 weeks, makes you move on, and if you fail just move that test to the back

So, assuming she passed FAR (first test, first attempt) this window, then she is going to try to cram in 2 in the next window. She and I are both auditors at a small firm. So, I have told her to try to get REG and AUD in one window, and then she only has BEC to worry about the new testing stuff. She is considering trying to get all three into the next window, I told her if I were going to do that, I would do REG first because it will require the most studying, then BEC second most studying, and then AUD at the end of the window so that with the little amount of studying combined with work experience maybe she will be able to get all 3.

    Thoughts????

How long has she been out of school? Did she take a graduate finance class? If yes, then BEC is doable the quickest. Some people struggle with BEC if they haven’t been in school for a while. I might do AUD and BEC in one window. REG is hard. I don’t know if you can do REG and another in one window, but she might. REG is exhausting. I passed on first try, but I spent 6 weeks full time studying with no job. I did 2 for BEC. AUD may be easier. Just be aware that I hear a lot of people who are auditors complain on this board that the exam is nothing like their job. Hopefully that will not be true for your friend. Good Luck!

Im an auditor, I failed aud the first try with a 71, but i didn't take it seriously and I was burned out from studying FAR, after that failure, I took it more seriously and studied and got a 91.

Only my REG score was more improved, failed it first try (61) even with studying and then stressed myself studying it for the retake so bad that I litteraly pulled a muscle in my neck requiring a steroid shot to ease the pain. On that retake though, I scored an 83. Thats a 22 point swing…

She doesn't have any kids, she is married, but her husband is going through the exam at the same time she is, so he is more understanding of study needs than most spouses. She is the very dedicated studious type, she had a 4.0 in college, just finished her MBA, and did all that while she was president of a sorority.

I think using the break between windows to study for Reg, and the first couple of weeks in the new window, that would give her 7 to 8 weeks studying REG, then turn around and immediately start on either AUD or BEC, I think she could do REG and one fo the others in one window, but I think trying to do 3 would be a real push.

The nightmare is just getting longer and longer with a 10 week score release only once a quarter. NO MERCY!!

    BEC - 75 (3x)
    AUD - 78 (3x)
    REG - 67, 66, Aug 1
    FAR - 54, Sept 8
