My vote is yes! Instant gratification is a nice feeling. And if things don't go my way, I HATE being strung along.

In comparison to job hunting, that's like asking “would you like waiting 3-4 weeks to hear if you've got the job or not?” Most people would say no.

Mitch, it sounds like you have the gift of patience. Patience is a virtue.

yes! does anyone know why they only let you take one section a quarter? i mean, wouldn't it be better in terms of revenue for them to allow candidates to take sections more than once a quarter? i can understand trying to keep the pass rates low, confidentiality etc but is that reason enough?

The GRE does it that way (except for the written portion, if I recall). The problem is that I am pretty sure that they score you against the others who test in the same period. That is kind of how I interpret the feedback they give you, whether or not it counts towards the grade. They seriously lack transparency in their grading system!

I would go further and say that I would like the test to end at the point where I failed, if it is during the MCQ! lol. If they know by the end of T2 you are not going to pass then why even waste anymore time.

Uhh, yes! When I did my CIA, they gave you a printout of whether you passed or failed right after you took it (tentative score, of course, but still). It was nice to know right away whether I could move on to the next section or start restudying the one I just tested for. I get more anxiety waiting on the score release than I do taking the darn thing.

Claudia if you could take the same section more than once a quarter you'd have a much better chance of seeing many of the same questions over and over again. I don't think it would be the same exact test but very close. Higher risk of cheating that way.

I would like to know. Then I would enjoy the break between exams and be able to actually take a mini brain vacation instead of constantly thinking of why I might not have passed or why I might have passed.

You can take all 4 exams in the same quarter but you can't take the same section twice in the same quarter.

I would like my score immediately too. The only benefit I can see to how it is now is your 18 month clock would start sooner. As it is, I think your clock starts the day you find out you passed your first one. If you were to immediately get your score, it'd start that day. I did not have issues with studying for the next part after BEC and REG because I was confident I had passed. I was in limbo after AUD though because I wasn't sure. I think it'd help people in preparing for their next part, not to mention the reduced stress of not having to think about what if for 2-3 weeks.

First off, lol estii's mind was just blown. Second i wouldnt want the scores that quickly, imagine taking FAR, after 4 grueling hours you put all of your effort and within one second of submitting it you find out you failed, i think i would be discouraged from taking the test again.

@mitchmatch, can you imagine how many smashed-in monitors at Prometric might result from a CPA candidate losing their minds over a 74 or lower after a 4-hour exam? THAT'S probably why they make us wait!

Personally, I would like to receive my score VIA email about an hour after I take it.

Let me get home, let me crack a beer, and then send me my score.
