Why so long to release scores?

I’m sure this has been asked somewhere before on these threads but I’m curious as to why it takes so long for a score release. It’s my understanding that none of the scoring is done manually, except BEC written communications that could affect your score if you’re hovering around a 75. Based on the fact that your 2nd testlet is directly determined by your score on the 1st testlet it seems to reason that your exam is being scored immediately as you progress through each testlet. Why then does it take so long for a score release? Am I missing some further consideration that has to be done before the release? Just curious.

Everyone knows the scores are delayed because of the curve that doesn't exist.

Statistically validate the results, as they say.

I'm just glad we don't have to take all 4 parts on pencil and paper, and wait 2-3 months for results.
It certainly is torture for the current generation that is used to instant gratification and the 24 hour news cycle.
