    Hey guys,

So I didn’t pass AUD last quarter and I’m nearing in on the last weeks of FAR. I take it end of October. I am trying to get one more test in before end of the year. My question is, do I re-study AUD in about 3-4 weeks, and retake end of November or move on to REG and attempt to study Nov and Dec and sit January?

My worry is may need some AUD experience before jumping back into the exam. At the same time I am getting surgery in beginning of November so I’ll be bumming it and have a lot of time to recommit to audit.

    Thoughts, feeling?

    As always,

    Appreciate you all!

If it were me, I'd do AUD. I'm taking FAR Oct 19 and sitting foe AUD Dec. 7th. So about a 6 week turnaround. You have experience of what will be on the exam and are more comfortable than someone taking it for the first time such as myself. If I were in your shoes, I'd take AUD.

The legendary Bob Monette (as seen in many of the Ninja Plus videos) recommends you go FAR – AUD – REG – BEC to maximize your study time. Of course, Monette hasn't been active since 2012/2013 (RIP) but Liz Kolar — who worked live classes alongside him for many years and founded Surgent CPA Review — still agrees with this. Their reasoning is that much of the basis of AUD is covered in FAR, and studying both exams back-to-back will heavily reduce study time.

Personally, I'm going to dissent somewhat. I agree with FAR – AUD but I'd take BEC before REG since many of the concepts in BEC (e.g. COSO, ratio analysis & other calculations, etc.) are redundant with FAR & AUD.

If you haven't watched Monette's introduction to the CPA exam, I HIGHLY recommend it.

I'd take AUD since you can reasonably squeeze that in before the end of the quarter. AUD has less content than REG and so you can probably get away with studying that in a shorter amount of time. Then you will get your FAR and AUD scores back at the same time and can plan next steps accordingly.
