Which next – REG or BEC?

I took and passed FAR in January, AUD in March and failed and just retook AUD May 27th. Now I’m wondering which section I should take next. Technically, I suppose it doesn’t matter since I have to take both sections anyway, however, I thought that maybe since the third section I am studying for will be during my two summer graduate courses, that may make a difference.

I want to start studying for the third section today and sit for the exam sometimes during the end of July or very beginning of August depending on how everything pans out. During these two months, I have two graduate summer courses, the last two to complete my MBA degree. After July 28th, I will be out of school forever. By this time I will hopefully have sat for this third section or be close to sitting. I am also going to take the fourth and final section before I begin looking for a job. So the fourth section I will be studying for full-time with no school or work responsibilities.

So should I take REG or BEC next? I was planning on taking REG to leave the’easiest’ section last to hopefully blast through, but I don’t know? I thought maybe I should take BEC now since it is less material to deal with while taking two summer courses, but then I’m afraid I will be super burnt out by the time I hit my fourth section and that would be the best time to take BEC? I don’t know…what do y’all think?>?

What is the workload of the 2 classes you are going to be taking? If they require alot of work you may want to study for BEC first. Since BEC does not have as much material as REG, it will be easier to balance grad classes and studying.

I say BEC. I have studied and passed BEC and studying for REG now, and feel that BEC was not easy to study for but nearly as hard as REG. AUD was easiest for me to study for (let's see if I passed!) 🙂

I say REG b/c its kicking my butt right now. Over here on pins and needles waiting for my score. BEC was the only section I passed on the first attempt. I am on my 3rd try with REG that seems like it will be 4 on Aug 17.

I started studying for REG today since that was the section I originally planned to take third and it seems a lot of the material ties in with AUD n regard to laws, what CPAs can and cannot do under the law, etc. So I think I may stick with it. Right now, according to Wiley CPAexcel planner, I will get through all the material in five weeks but it seems that each day's lesson always takes me a lot longer to complete than it should which concerns me once my classes start Monday. I don't know. I've decided there's no ‘good' way to go about studying.

I would say BEC since there's a lot of FAR material on BEC and you passed FAR already. Took me three times to pass BEC, so I don't understand why people always claim it's the easiest. Not sure if people will feel that same way after Q2 score releases now that there are SIMS on that section…. I'm with @anyatver – AUD was the easiest section. Taking REG with no work or school responsibilities sounds like a good set-up to pass in my opinion.
