When does Prometric release data files to AICPA?

So I scheduled my REG retake for 10/19 specifically so I could get a score release by 11/4.

I just looked at my CA Board of Accountancy profile and it says my “CBT Exam Attendance Received by NASBA” and it was updated at 5:31 am this morning, 10/21.

The cutoff for the AICPA to receive scores was yesterday, 10/20. Does anyone know if this means I won’t get my scores on 11/4? Or was there just a delay with the CA Board of Accountancy updating my profile?

I had the same problem with my Reg exam on 10/19 in Indiana. NASBA didn't update reflecting attendance until today. Hoping it was a delay in updating not a delay in transmitting.

Does anyone know if there is a way for us to call and confirm this?

@olintos so how do you think REG was? Looks like you've killed your other exams so far so you probably breezed through this one too. Mostly curious how you thought the MC was? It seemed so different between September and October testing periods..

@NeedsA75 my reg experience was comparable to other sections. I always feel like if you do well on the first testlet, they throw odd-ball / obscure questions at you. My theory is, once they see that you know the basics, they start digging into just how much you really know. It's somewhat upsetting because I nail down all of the concepts, and then the second and third testlets seem to be from the small print in the appendix …does your experience agree or disagree???

The first time I took it, I totally agree with your sentiment. Zipped through the first testlet and got a much harder second testlet. I failed with a 74 because I crapped the bed on the sims the first time.

This time, the first testlet came out with tricky and obscure questions from the get go. I couldn't tell if my 2nd and 3rd testlets were any harder. This is not what I was expecting at all and I have no idea if its because I got tested on stuff I didn't know well or if the questions were genuinely more obscure and tricky than the first time. It makes me wonder how many questions you need to get right on the first testlet to get a more difficult second testlet.

That said, my sims were much more manageable the second time so I'm holding out hope that I didn't get slaughtered on the MC.

Still not sure if I'll even get my scores on November 4

Usually prometric sends the whole day as a batch to AICPA. Don't forget AICPA and NASBA are entirely different entities and when NASBA was notifed has nothing to do with when AICPA was. I believe prometric notifies aicpa who notifies NASBA and NASBA lags a day or two behind.

@NeedsA75 I had the exact same experience yesterday with FAR. Hard, obscure testlet to start with, 2nd testlet hard, and third maybe easier but not sure. I can’t help but wonder if it is because I took the exam on the last day of this testing window.

My conspiracy theory esp is going crazy. I am trying to be logical and talk myself off the ledge, but I am exhausted and have no control. lol

@stilgoin and @NeedsA75, my experience was similar as well. The very first question I got was a paragraph with book value, fair value, 3 different dates, etc… I thought ‘ummm.. okay. I hope it gets easier” —– Nope. The second one was as tough, if not more, and I couldn't tell if the third one was slightly easier or not. SIMS – there were too much information in 4 of the 7 problems, and the split-window design was inefficient because I still had to scroll up and down as much. I wish we could zoom in and zoom out in those split windows so we get a complete look at the (overloaded) information we have to sort through!

I have a related question on this – my test yesterday (on cutoff date) was at 5PM. I ended up starting my test at 5:30PM because the prometric center was slow. I got out at 9:30PM and the AICPA website says they had to receive the test data by midnight ET. Does this mean I won't get my results by 11/4? 🙁 Has anybody else had this experience?

All the exams were hard for me. I think the worst were the REG sims. I can't wait to put those three letters behind my name.
