What to Do About Getting Burnt Out Days Before Exam

Is it a bad idea to take a night off of studying if I am feeling really burnt out 5 days before a test? I am becoming so tired of studying I am far less efficient than I have been over the course of my FAR studying. I have been able to study at work and I just mentioned to a coworker that I think I have only taken one day off from studying in the last month and a half. Each day the amount of hours studying has varied, but I think this is what is causing me to get burnt out. I have been so worried about passing my last exam and not losing AUD credit that I feel like I have over done it in some respects (if that is possible)

    Any suggestions?

5 days to go and you could possibly be done? Grind it out for 5 more days knowing you have an unlimited break after its over.

    When does your AUD expire?

Why not work hard the next 5 days, and then afterward, take a few days off from work to revitalize yourself?

If you feel studying isn't doing you any good due to volume, then don't do it..But if you think you're burned out now, imagine how burned out you'll be if you fail and have to start over, and potentially lose an exam.

You're running a marathon and just hit mile #25, are you going to stop and sit for a second because you're tired and wonder if you overdid it the first 25 miles, or are you going to dig?

I would take a night off. Do something you enjoy like watch a movie, go for a work out, or a nice meal. Then, study super hard during your remaining nights.
BTW mla, I use to run the ultra marathon. When you are hurting, slowing down allows you to uptake your stored carbohydrates better than not stopping at all.

I usually take a night off if I feel burnt. I studied so much on a couple of my exams last year that I could literally not comprehend the questions. I have learned not to let myself get to that point. Managing yourself as far as health and efficiency is just as important as studying. Good luck!!

I think it depends on the person. I get really burnt out studying too. For me, I have to take nights off, because when I get burnt out, I start missing questions I know that I know—and that is detrimental to my psyche. So I stop for day, or even–GASP–two!

A day of study = note-taking AND tons of MCQs.

When I'm burnt out, I just do MQQs, maybe half of what I'm supposed to do. Lessening your workload a little bit isn't going to harm you. You can do it!! Last test!!

Have you taken any practice exams, and if so how are you scoring? If you're close to 70 or higher, I think you deserve a night off if you feel very tired. FAR was my last exam too and I was on a crazy schedule, but once you get so tired the time starts to get wasted because you don't retain a lot of information. The time studying is not as nearly as important as to how focused and productive you are during that time. Work smarter – not harder. Good luck!

I'm doing pretty well. I have done about 800 NINJA problems and 1200 on Roger. I am averaging about an 80 on the NINJA, and a little under 85 on the Roger questions. I have done some simulation practice, but not much. I am trying to do more this weekend and just get as many under my belt as possible without sacrificing too much time because I want to make sure to review everything. This is my third time through the material besides a couple of chapters (like business combinations for example), but there are certain areas that trip me up:

    -Capitalized interest
    -Asset Retirement Obligations
    -Detachable stock purchase warrants
-Non operating leases and sale leasebacks
    – Stock options
    -Business combos and intercompany transactions

I feel pretty good about everything else for the most part but still trying to go through it all one more time.

When I am totally burnt out I don't learn anything. Reading and lectures are worthless to do because it becomes more irritating.

I usually listen to music and do at least 50 MCQs that night after work. I do jot down bits of info from things I get wrong or guess about. There has been no social life for a long time so I can't just call up people and ask to meet up somewhere to have a good time. Therefore, I might watch something on Netflix or Amazon to relax at home.

I have the same issue so when I feel mentally drained I take like a day off from studying a few days before or the night before I make sure to not over do it. Studying the morning before an exam is the best for me because everything is super fresh and I am rested the night before. If you are studying so much to the point where you are getting tons of questions wrong you need a night off and get back to it the following day.

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
