What study material?

I am getting ready to start studying for the CPA exam and need help determining what training material I need. I have the Roger 2016 CPA Review books for all four sections (I never did sit for the exam). Can I use these books to study? If so, what additional material/programs should I use to supplement these guides? I am trying to keep costs to a minimum. Thanks!

By the way, I will be taking FAR first (probably in January 2019).

Yes you can use these books to study. Just know there have been updates since they were written vs. what is testable currently. I would recommend that you get a software in addition to the books to study. I think it would be very tough to pass without having at least the MC practice element- I think its also helpful if you have never sat before to experience what the SIMs are like. If cost is a key factor, look at NINJA monthly. It's gonna be much cheaper than anything else you can get at $67/month. Lots of people on this forum to attest to its quality, although I have never used personally. Good luck!

Thanks! Is it okay to read through the 2016 Roger books, make flashcards and then buy the NINJA course? Or do I need the NINJA course as I go through the Roger books? How does the NINJA audios compare to the Roger videos (lectures)?
