I don’t think I’ve seen anyone on here who had a score of less than like 52. Do they assign scores of less than 50? Maybe they only do that if you leave the SIMs blank or something.

I worked with a girl who got something in the 40s on FAR on her first attempt.
    She was pretty upset…

My lowest was a 58 on FAR. Totally expected. Was not prepared.

I got a 47 on AUD the first time I took it. Wasn't thrilled about it but frankly all fails are the same and a 74 would have hurt more.

Yes. I think a 74 would kill me much more than a 47 would. With a 74, it's like, “what the hell do I have to do to pass this stupid thing?” Whereas with a 47, it's more along the lines of “I need to put my head down and just study and/or change my methodology of studying.” And…this isn't often said but everyone knows it…you have a ZERO on the whole exam until you have 75+ on your fourth part. And Ethics too, albeit far easier to pass.

I don't know if I believe this but I remember seeing this. Apparently this person got an “8” on Audit.

    I said that right. 8.

Wowwy – that score report looks legit. She probably didn't answer any of the SIMs and flagged all but like 3 MCQs. Either that or there was a computer-related problem with her exam files or some such thing. The $500 to investigate would probably not even be worth it; easier to just take it again for $200. I don't understand why she says “Audit doesn't give percentages like the other 3 exams – if she is referring to the % breakdown of each component of the test, uh, they're right there on the left-hand side of the report!”

Ok, I guess they do give scores below 50! 🙂

Holy shit! I could go in there and try and get the lowest score and it would probably still be higher than an 8 lol

I was genuinely impressed. Still think a 74 might still be worse than an 8 though.

I think that was a fluke. Something really went wrong with her exam that she didn't mention. Or, she walked out of it after the first testlet or something.
If you answered all the questions and still got an 8, then they must be serious about *really* giving no credit for incorrect answers. On some other professional/standardized exams,
they only deduct a fraction of a point for wrong answers. Which means, the only way you can't get some credit for it is if you don't answer it at all.

I doubt they give you any free points on these exams, however if any effort was put forth at all you should score in the 20's-30's I would think just by simple luck on guessing. However if you left everything blank, I am sure you would get close to a 0.

If the person scoring an 8 truly went through the test and answered every question they either have horrible luck on guessing or purposely tried to get each question wrong I think.

First go at the CPA! Only using Becker
    Reg / Nov 2015 - 87
    Far / Apr 2016 - 79
    Bec / May 2016 - 80
    Aud / Aug 2016

@Abdulmajid – that's right, if the plan doesn't work, change it but not the goal! I debated starting with BEC too but decided to do it last. Glad you have moved on to studying for AUD instead of continuing with BEC. Some people told me to pass FAR first and not take any other exams until it was passed. I think those people on here just wanted to see me fail! haha Well, it didn't work. Anyway, good wishes!

Got a 41 on FAR after doing only 100 MCQ's for FAR. Yup…..

    BEC - 87 | 02/28
    REG - 70 | 06/10, REMATCH | 08/30
    AUD - XX | 09/10
    FAR - XX | 12/10

Abdul: I know most people would advice to take the exam since your memory is still fresh but after that many attempts, maybe it's best to move on to another topic that you might not struggle so much with and give yourself a break from BEC. FAR is a good basis overall.

I see you're taking AuD next. Good choice. The ratios you learned from BEC would help with AUD.

Yes… the infamous 8. While I don't discredit the validity of the score, I do wonder what made up that 8…

    BEC - 74, 77
    FAR - 72, 71 (retake 7/29)
    REG - 69
    AUD - Q4 '16

The gal clicked the START EXAM icon, saw the first question, passed out, and didn't come to until five minutes before the exam ended. She answered 6 MCQ or filled in 6 blanks, got 2 of them right, and hence…her score of 8.

In all seriousness, if that score was legitimately earned from just getting 98 percent of the test incorrect (as she seemed to imply) and she ever passed, I'd love to know her improvement strategy to hoist herself up from 8 to 75+. That would be worthy of merit and mention in the AICPA publications and also those of her state board of accountancy.
