I feel like I have given up everything in my life, but I miss Netflix the most. I mean, the new Daredevil is out and I’m totally missing out. On the flip side, I deleted Facebook and am kind of enjoying having that out of my life. What does everyone else miss that they’ve had to give up to make time for studying?

“I look forward to all of the interesting forum post threads you begin!”

Luckily, you don't have to wait to see my interesting posts. But probably not a good idea to spend too much time on forums when you should probably be studying.

That's an ambitious study schedule! I've been at this coming up on a year now. Worst part is knowing you probably should be studying no matter what you're doing.

I miss being able to do anything other than studying without feeling guilty for not studying. 🙁

    That and video games.

@Bear-Bear, I feel the same way!!! I can't even youtube in peace or watch my dramas without thinking, man, I should study instead. Let's hope by some miracle, I pass REG and only have 2 more months of this torture.

I miss feeling like I actually get to relax when I get home from work. I'm hoping May 5th gives me good news and that I'm FINALLY done.

I am a father of 2 young boys, I am married, I work full-time, and I own a house. I have passed REG and FAR and I just took AUD yesterday. You can still maintain a life during these exams. Plan your studies out. Set a date on the calendar for your exam and stick to it. I still have fun on the weekends, I still go to my sons swim class. I still hang out with my wife. You just need to prioritize.

It's not what I missed, because even after finishing my exams I am still the same. Sure I work out more, can sleep easy, but no real different. My studies have taken me too far and I don't know how to redeem my life again.

Good for you DT! Kids and a partner, and a job and a house! You must be super organized. I only have a partner, part of a house and a dog. I think the ultimate would be living alone. While I love my pup and partner, putting dinner on the table most nights, making sure the pooch gets an hour walk a day, changing out of comfy study clothes and having to adjust to another’s schedule can be challenging. However, I am finding that studying less is equalling more these days.

@LAST coffee, Since you're done. I can't really give you any tips. But I've taken 2, and I'm hoping I will not have to retake any. But I go to parties on the weekends and still have dinner. There's just needs to be a balance. I still talk to my friends during the process, albeit more rarely. But surely, now that you're done, you can start convos again.

It's not that I do nothing ever at all, for instance, I kept my season tickets to the orchestra and am doing a charity walk. However, there is no way I could still do everything I used to and study like I need to. In part due to a ridiculous commute that I'm in no position to change, during the week on my least demanding work day, I have 4 hours of discretionary time, for cooking (I have to cook all my meals), cleaning, studying, lawn care, walking the dog, etc. During month end close I'm lucky to get 2 hours. On the weekends I also work a second part time job, having given up my third to make study time. I am a huge procrastinator and am distracted easily. If I have the Netflix subscription, Facebook app, etc. I will use them when I shouldn't. Everyone is different. This is what I need to be studious. I also have a pretty aggressive exam schedule and haven't been in a classroom in years, which means I have to get a lot done in a little time. The items I don't actually deal with for my job are almost like learning fresh. I think it's most important that everyone knows their own learning needs and adjusts accordingly.

@mayo please f*** off. To answer the question though I miss spending quality time with my family. Sometimes I miss out on hanging with them because I need to study.

I miss taking night time drives out in the sticks. Haven't taken a relaxing cruise like that since I started studying back in December.

Actually, I did come off as a bit of a jerk huh? Guess I was just feeling snippy that day and made a bad joke. I withdraw my previous comments.
