I passed BEC last May, and have been struggling to find motivation to study enough for the other three sections. I’ve come super close to passes and its becoming more and more difficult to find motivation.
    Any one have any advice?

Personal Pride. You put hours and hours of studying in to get your CPA. Personally, I passed up going out and traveling with friends. Sure, we don't need a CPA to be successful, but having that CPA demonstrates your commitment on getting your goals accomplished. Everything else is secondary. Just got to finish what you started.

    A high paying job.
I left a job grossing 40k to brute force the CPA in a span of six months (I hope) and with the CPA done, I should be able to make at least 50% more than before.

More job opportunities, my daughter, higher pay rate, my ego and most importantly just to be able to finish something I put my mind too is a big accomplishment and challenge. I can tell my daughter I was able to complete the exams when she was a baby despite lack of sleep and literally no time to breath. The only time I have to myself is when I sleep. As we've learned in BEC and AUD, the tone at the top is most valuable.

The pride meant the most to me, making the big leagues of the accounting world. On top of that, higher pay and marketability were huge incentives.

The list goes on and on…..besides pride and determination imagine all the things you get once a CPA. You could ask for new furniture in your office, do taxes on the side and make another $10k a year, buying a sick house with dope backyard, etc…

Everyone at my company at my level is a CPA and even though I already have a high paying job and years of experience, to me it's a matter of professional pride to finally be a CPA. I have already put 3 years in qualifying to sit for the exam, I need to pass as soon as I can and never have to set foot in a classroom ever again! Waiting to do until I am almost 40 wasn't ideal:) LOL

    Goingallin,

You just gave the same reasons that I always give when asked. It is tough to get all of this done when you have a baby and a 40+ hour job. I study before work sometimes, then study an hour or two after, come home for dinner and a little bit of family time, study, sleep. Its a painful routine, but to know that you will be able to show her what hard work and sacrifice can bring is priceless… Of course I had my mind set on a Movado Museum watch and an expensive bottle of whiskey as a reward for passing when I first started, but now that I am nearly finished, I know that that money will go towards a vacation for my wife as a thanks for being SuperMom while I did a billion multiple-choice questions… I hope other folks on here can realize that while we are the ones that have to do the studying and work, there is always at least one person making this opportunity possible for us.
