Want to try my luck getting a public job (AGAIN). By when should I have the CPA exam complete to get applications in time for busy season? I am gunning for Aug 15th but hope I can squeeze a few extra weeks in.

Try to give it a shot! I have passed 2 parts and thought the same that I should pass all to be able to land a job in public accounting. I have applied 3 firms. One large national firm called me the next day after I applied. I have been talking to their regional recruiter, waiting for them to schedule me an interview with local leaders. I got a rejected email from a much smaller firm and the other firm keeps in on file since they don't have any position open currently. It does not hurt to fly out your resume. You might be surprised by the outcome.

You should apply when the firms start looking for hires for next year, which will be August/September of this year. Are you looking for entry-level?

I have been sending out cover letters and resumes since late May. I have an interview scheduled on Monday with a smaller firm and have had a phone screen with a larger… They are still looking to hire this year.

Yes I am looking for an entry level. I dont seem to be as good at finding small firms as others. Do you have any advice?
