Urgent assistance with application for license

So I’m an idiot and after passing exam few years back – I never formally applied for my CPA application as wasn’t expecting to be in the US that long. Now staying here – and need to become official CPA urgently. Unfortunately I only have 134 credits – so need to get 16 more credits as soon as possible – hopefully within the next 4-6 weeks. Don’t care about time it will take and obviously grades not important – but very time sensitive – I have seen a few threads on here that seem to talk about community college courses – but they were few years back and not sure if this is based on most recent information.
Anyone else dealt with this recently?

I am not in the same situation as you are but I just found out that even though I had enough credits to sit for the exam I will have to get accounting ethics and audit credits before I can get licensed. I think an average course is 6-8 weeks, it might be shorter if you take online courses.

I would start by researching your options and looking into accredited educational institutions that offer the courses you need. Also, it might be a good idea to check with the board to see if those courses will qualify, although I don't know if this is possible. There is another thread here regarding CO Licensing and some Ninjas have taken classes which were later not accepted by the licensing board.

Hmm. Depends on your college. But there are CLEP exams, though unfortunately, the CC I was at didn't allow it. I DO know that there are several 4 week classes at a CC, HOWEVER, they do require SOME sort of weekly attendance. Or else, I would have done it. Most classes are 4 units so you could take about 4 of them and maybe a VITA class (1 unit).

I know that Thomas Edison State College permits CLEP exams…and they have online courses. If you have enough credits in accounting/finance topics, I'd just take courses that sound fun. When something is interesting to you, it always seems easier and like less of a burden.

If you have any language skills, you can take a CLEP test for languages and wont need to take a class at all. Thats what I was going to do until I figured out some random photography classes I had taken for credit for fun counted towards my education credit requirements.
