Looking for some advice from the pros. I am a TX Resident and non-accounting major. I have over 150 credit hours and 34 business hours. I have 18 credits in accounting, only 9 of which are upper-level. From what I understand, Texas states that if you don’t have 30 accounting credits in your undergraduate transcript you have to take a minimum of 30 courses on top of whatever you may have obtained in your undergraduate degree, short of 30.
My question is: would it make sense to look for a state that will recognize all 18 credits? This way I can find a state that only requires 24, meaning I would only need to take two classes to become eligible. Secondly, once I were to become licensed in that state, wouldn’t I be able to transfer my license to TX?
All help is appreciated.
