When I took my audit section in July I had two Research Simulations. I’ve always heard that typically this is unlucky because one of those will be a pretest question and dropped. Does anyone have any insight regarding this?

Ultimately I feel that I would prefer a more involved simulation to be the pretest question than a Research problem… Can you tell it's score release day and I'm nervous/overthinking things!

I don't think anyone knows either way. I've seen it debated on here numerous times but never any confirmation from a source.

I took Audit in July and also had 2 research sims. Based on how they read and how out of left field one of my other sims was, I'm pretty confident that neither of them was the pretest sim.

I was in the same boat. I have always heard that if you have double research that one is almost always going to be a trashed one (even Roger CPA Review says it in the lectures). But who really knows.

I also was very happy to have taken AUD last as I felt like I would have been really at a disadvantage had I not just taken FAR. I noticed that I had some thick technical accounting in my SIMS that I wouldn't had known from my work experience.

I am getting FAR and AUD scores back tonight and my anxiety is high. Between my two failures, I was only 3 points away from being finished, so it is going to hurt me deep to see another 74 flash on that screen. Just give me a 60 ><

I also had two Research questions on my exam in July… Roger said over and over in his lectures that two Research generally means that it is a pretest question, but unlike @vandammage I did not feel that there was a SIM that was unexpected or overly difficult as compared to others. On FAR in May I could tell right away which question was being pre tested because it was on a subject that was not covered in any of my review materials. I can totally understand the nerves though- I'm super nervous. I never have had any AUD work experience and not only is this my 2nd time taking it, but now it's also the last passing score that I need!

I had 2 research as well for AUD and 2 FAR sims (yes on Audit) so I'm hoping that both research ones count because I am 99% certain I got both of them right.

Well from what I've seen, everyone who took AUD in Q3 seems to have had two Research Questions. Hopefully that's a sign they both count!

Would you mind give me some advice on the research sims? I am now regret did not take it seriously. I have 2 research sims as well and I am 99% sure I did not get it right for the last box. I took it on 9/10, got 69. (the Houston Harvey flooding did mass up my study schedule a bit.)

Could you tell me if you find at least 50% matching words of the question asked in the literature you found? In general, I can find the relevant section, but not in the details.

Your post make me think I should have a testing strategy. I never can tell which question was pre tested..
I am a believer of learning the fishing skill , apparently I need more catching the real fish practice.
