    took REG today.

1 – when I went to type in my launch code, the keyboard wouldn’t type at all. Prometric staff had to restart the computer

2 – while working on the last testlet, the computer shut off and went back to the Prometric screen saver. Prometric staff restarted the computer and my test was still where I was when it shut down. talk about having an almost panic attack! happened to 2 other testers during the last hour I was there as well.

    now, the test…

There were questions I absolutely knew, questions I was pretty sure about and some I had to really work through super carefully. There was only 1 question I had no idea what it was even talking about.

The sims were a good bit harder than last quarter’s test in my opinion. I had 1 research question. I thought it was super specific and I was not able to find the exact wording in the AL. For a made up example of what this was like, let’s say the research question is asking about contact lenses. It asks you to find the section/subsection/reference for multi-focal daily wear lenses for people with green eyes. The closest thing you can find is about corrective lenses for people who are nearsighted.

I hope that was close enough!

I want to go look at what topics they claimed were no longer tested and see if I can verify that.

    thoughts?

Hope for the best! I get more concerned when things seem easy; if it felt like you went 10 rounds with a champion (as in it was a challenge), you're probably on the right track!

Thanks for the insight @Livealittle. It definitely sounds like the test went well for you. As far as I know, Commercial paper & UCC Sales Article & Dodd Frank aren't on the new exam.

I have a question for you and other REG takers. I plan on sitting for REG in Q3 but Becker and other review courses state that REG review material updates every 3rd quarter. Does this just mean that the deduction amounts are updated for 2017? MY question is how does someone planning to take the test in q3 study with material that won't be updated? Does anyone have any insight on this? thanks!

@wakefern58-I am taking my REG test in July and was told that the books should be updated within the next couple of weeks. I hope to get my book around May 12th or so, and I already started studying via phone by listening to the Business Law lectures (Chapter 7 and 8).

From when I took it before and this last time, I don't remember having a lot of questions where I had to remember specific phase out amounts on a lot of topics. Like the homework has, Jim and Ann made $130,000 from wages, and had items A-D. Ignoring the blah blah limit on blah blah, what is the [fill in the blank here]?

you do need to know things like the percentages on deductions. Like what deductions are subject to the 2% of AGI, etc.
