I just took FAR on the 9th and am a little nervous about whether or not I passed. I know worrying will do nothing and I am taking a break because I am kind of burned out and need to “recharge.” I must say that I have never, ever had to study for an examination like FAR – Holy Cow that was A LOT of information to retain!! The cumulative amount of information and the number of random topics is absurd – IMO.
My Exam Experience:
1st Teslet: Medium difficult. Maybe flagged 5 questions, but I felt like I nailed most.
2nd Tetslet: Slightly harder than First and flagged between 6-7. More computational than the 1st, but nothing too bad.
3rd Teslet: Definitely harder than first and second. Flagged around 9-10. Lengthy paragraph questions rather than having the information in an organized presentation.
Sims: Brutal because they were all on topics that I knew by heart, but with a “twist” and some were very lengthy. I did okay, but did not nail them like the MCQ. Didn’t do well with the research either.
Overall, I feel I answered at least 70% or more of the MCQ’s correctly. But, the Sims I will be lucky to have answered 50% correctly – probably between 40-50%. However, I gave the Sims everything I had and tried to solve them to the best of my capabilities and did not leave anything blank.
Do you guys think I passed? I’m thinking I will be in the 73-85 range, but this is my first exam so I have no clue. Only the CPA Gods truly know. Thanks and goodluck!
