I take REG on Friday & I took off this whole week to study. But I’ve basically been studying for REG since the beginning of March after I found out I passed FAR. Well, on my way to Starbucks just now, I saw a sign that said “divided highway,” and I had to read it twice because originally I read it as “dividend highway.” LOL! I think I’ve been studying REG for too long. BUT, hopefully it pays off on Friday!!

Well, back to pounding out questions and sims!

    FAR - 51, 76!!!!!!!
    BEC - 65, 78!!!!!!
    AUD - 53 (Retake 8/26/16)
    REG - 67, 76!!!!!!!

How do you like studying at the coffee shop? I am in my office alone since tax season is over and my helper delivered her baby. I can make my own coffee, but even though it's quiet and free coffee refills, I still can't focus for long lengths of time.

@tncincy I was having the same problem and started studying again at my local library. I was feeling the day drag on longer because I was at work studying until super late and then just to come back early the next morning and start all over. The drive to the library helped break up the day a bit. If you can't do the library coffee shops are always great but make sure to bring headphones to keep the noise out.

@acollins423 Good luck with Reg. I'm taking my retake next Thursday and also taking the week off. Hope we can pull off a pass. 🙂

    FAR - (11/01/14) 71 (02/07/15) 79
    AUD - (04/30/15) 86
    BEC - (07/21/15) 73 (10/01/15) 75
    REG - (11/30/15) 55 (05/19/16) 74

I graduated on Saturday and I was doing flashcards on my phone while waiting for graduation to start. I've been studying for REG for the last 2 weeks and I keep dreaming about trying to study and not having time and I wake up answering questions. I get it.

    REG - 7/5/16
    FAR - 2016
    BEC - 2017
    AUD - 2017

Good luck! My first CPA is tomorrow afternoon. I am solid on most of it, but there are a couple things in Business Law I really don't comprehend. I only received the NTS a month ago and started studying right after the CPA I work for made us take our post tax break. So far I had spent about 3 weeks of carrying around a chapter from Wiley every where I go and 12 days of NINJA Reg MCQs.

Right now I am just happy my husband and kids(3, 4, and 14) are clean and fed. My house is such a mess though… my sister and I had a falling out today because I was too embarassed by the mess to let her bring her kids over to use my internet. Lots of spring cleaning and decluttering is scheduled for next week!!

Ohh, and my math skills seem to have declined. I can get most MCQs right by doing them in my head, but when conversing with other people I appear to be adding when I should be subtracting, etc…

I hate REG so much, and the idea of studying it again. Dividend highway ha! How are you preparing sims?

Materials: Wiley book + Ninja MCQ

    FAR - 83 (Jan 2016)
    Study time: 6 weeks
    BEC - 87 (April 2016)
    Study time: 2 weeks
    AUD - 92 (July 2016), (74 Feb 2016), (72 May 2016)
    Study time: 4 (Feb) + 2 (May) + 3 (July) = 9 weeks total
    REG - (70 April 2016)
    Study time: 3 weeks

@tncincy – I like Starbucks most times.. Although when I first got there yesterday there was this gaggle of high school girls gossiping and I overheard them talking about how hard the freaking ACT is… I wanted to shank them in the neck with a straw.. But I just put my headphones in and tuned them out.. Haha. Can't pass the CPA if I'm in jail for assault, right? LOL. I usually study in our home office, at the kitchen table or sitting on the couch with my lap desk. But every now & then I like to switch it up. So I go to Starbucks.

@zumo76 – Thanks!! Good luck to you, too! I'll be thinking of you next week!!

@claudia408 – Yeah… It's been one heck of a journey.. Haha. Long story short, my office bought Becker for me in August 2013.. Then I got pregnant in September 2013 but, I continued trying to study. I took FAR at the end of November 2013 but I hadn't studied enough. I had to LEARN how to study.. I never really had to study before so it was a transition for me. Plus, it didn't help that I was SO EXHAUSTED every afternoon when I got home from work from the first trimester pregnancy hormones. All I wanted to do everyday was nap in the afternoons. Some days I would nap instead of study.. And, at the time, my husband couldn't find work and was trying to finish college, so I was supporting us on just my salary and that was pretty stressful.. So that probably had a lot to do with it. But, failing FAR so miserably was horrible for the girl who had never failed anything in her life, ever. Fast forward 2.5 years, and my daughter will be 2 at the end of this month and goes to bed at 6:30 every night, my husband has a steady job, and we're finally financially stable. So I think I was just finally able to turn my brain off and really focus on the materials this time around. Hoping REG goes as well tomorrow.. But we shall see. Super nervous!! No, I did not have any DRS on my FAR exam at the end of February.

@jkaos – YES! I feel you on that one! My house is a DISASTER area with just one kid (almost 2 years old). So I can only imagine how it would be with three!! What's helped us is that while I'm studying, we hired a girl to come and clean our house once a month. It's made my life so much easier!!!

@mhei8116 – REG isn't so bad. I took individual and corporate tax in college and I was really good at it. Last time around I made a 67 but didn't really study THAT much.. So I'm hoping this time I get those extra 8 points!!! For FAR, I worked every single one of the NINJA sims at least once. And that seemed to help me. So I'm doing that right now for REG too. I'm currently on #51 out of the 75 total. I've been doing pretty well on them.. So I'm hoping working the sims like I did for FAR will pay off like it did for that exam. I've also worked like 2,600 MCQs.. Once I finish going through these sims, I plan to work some more MCQs. But I am really nervous about tomorrow! But we shall see how it goes!!

    Good luck, everyone!!

Martin – 67%. I just finished taking it. I felt pretty good about the MCQs. And pretty okay about the sims. I feel better about these sims than I did on the FAR sims last time. And I passed FAR with a 76. So fingers crossed. But I'm so exhausted. Mentally, emotionally, physically DRAINED. I need adult beverages stat! Lol.

acollins423, I wish all the luck in the world. Do you feel that the questions were harder than Ninja? How many questions did you do to average 67? What was your trending score?
