So my AUD credit expires on 8/17. Was hoping for 2 more chances to pass FAR before then, this quarter and the next. But it’s feeling more and more like Prometric (at least in my area) won’t open again before the end of this quarter. I know NASBA is opening the window up to June 30th, but that feels like a band-aid to a huge mess here, test centers just don’t feel like they’ll be open before then. Even if they were, I GUARANTEE they’ll be 100% booked the instant things open up.

And honestly, I don’t care anymore. All I wanna do right now is buy a PS4 and play the FFVII Remake and not even think about accounting for a looooong time, cuz this nonsense has genuinely broken me.

But of course you can’t quit, that’s a grievous sin guaranteed to make you fail…

Should I just call this quarter a lost cause, take a month or two off, and ramp up studying in June and July and take the last chance in August? Or cram-study now only to fail end of June (if I’m even lucky to get a spot), then cram study in July only to fail in August?

This whole thing is so screwed up…

This shouldn't be even a question. Study your butt off, have a high sense of urgency and get it over with asap!! Take the test in June, pass it and then play your video games. Trust me you will enjoy your video games alot ALOT more once you know you have successfully completed your exams. Please have sense of urgency! As youve mentioned in your prior topic, you dont want to end up in the vicious cycle.

DocJ it is so good to see you back here. You need to take the pressure off of yourself and realize you don’t have to stress to pass. You can relax and learn what you need to know to pass. I don’t know where you are in terms of losing credit for exams you have passed but you only have FAR left and as much info as that is you can do it! You mentioned money in your prior post, which by the way, had me very concerned about you, so subscribe to ninja. Ninja has all you need. Be methodical, feel in control, and study to pass. Look ahead, not back. Good luck and take care.

Stay focused. I sold my gaming pc, deleted my steam account, and bought a casual school laptop for studying and tuned all that stuff out until I was done.

Jesus Christ, is that a serious question? It’s time to grow up bro. Get your CPA out of the way first, then you can play all video games you want

Come on @DocJ, we're basically at the same stage in the process. I've been angry studying since I got my FAR results on March 18. As of now, my retest is April 17. I know this can change but I've been rereading and restudying one Wiley section a week since I failed FAR. It's been absolutely painful, depressing, and down right disgusting going over this information again after preparing for the last 4 months prior to my March 9 test but I'm ready to be done. My REG expires this October but I don't want to be anywhere near that trying to pass FAR. Let's go man! You're not alone in this insane process.

Since this is your last exam, and AUD expires 8/17, I wouldn't take a chance. Take the exam in Q2. What happens if you take the exam in Q3 and fail? You'll lose your AUD credit. Also, you don't want to wait too long between retakes. You'll forget much more than you think. I took FAR in October 2018 and failed with a 72. I retook it in April 2019 and failed AGAIN with a 55! Retook it a 3rd time in July 2019 and passed with an 82. Please believe me when I say there is such a thing as waiting too long for a retake. Plus, you are SO close to passing this thing and getting your life back. Hammer those MCQs and read through the book (do not watch videos! that was the key to me passing the 3rd time on FAR). I just read through the book and took notes and practiced MCQs like crazy for my 3rd attempt. Get this last exam over and done with and you can play FFVII to your heart's content :)!

@April94 Why did you wait so long for your 3rd FAR retake? Just curious.

@PDiddy2000 My second retake was in April (Q2) and the earliest I could do the 3rd retake was in July (Q3)

@April19 Thanks. My FAR retake is April 17, which would be over a month since I took FAR and a day short of a month from when I found out I failed it, so I'm being a bit aggressive on my restudy but I'm basically doing the same thing as you did. I'm re-reading all the material. I looked at my score summary and decided to start with my two weakest areas then will move to my comparable area, and will finish up with my strongest area. Nice to know that someone who struggled with FAR because I'm seriously struggling with it was able to pass it using the same restudy strategy that I'm using right now. Thanks again.

I don't know. Even when I was studying, I didn't give up on gaming, movies, TV, etc. I obviously adjusted the hours I spent in those areas, but you need to do something to keep you sanity. As long as I put in 3-4 hrs of studying at any given day, I did whatever I wanted w/ my spare time. And, yes, I was working full time as well.

@ Jombe Your scores are fabulous so you can afford to play games and watch tv. I bet whenever you studied, it was always very high quality study times. With DOCJs case, its different. He doesn't want to study at all because he is still mad about 74 score he got last time. He can still play games, but he should still be studying and trying to pass the last test asap! There are people who cant pass their last test, resulting in retaking the test that theyve already passed. I just dont want him to post another rant about how he wants to die n that he doesn't care about this whole CPA process. Focus n get it done bro! I will be the first dude congratulating your last cpa test pass! Lets get it done!

I have to agree with Jombe (although my scores are not as impressive). I never really bought into the concept of having to give up your entire life to study for the CPA. Of course sacrifice is necessary. But I still went to the movies, played video games, even went on a week-long vacation while I was studying and I still passed all 4 in 8-ish months. I was also working full-time. Personally, I would have burnt out very, very quickly had I not incorporated fun activities and downtime into my schedule.

    FAR - PASSED 11/14
    AUD - TBD
    BEC - TBD
    REG - First take 2/16

Back in the day I was big into COD, I forget which year/version it was, but I logged +31 days playing (mostly online multiplayer).
That's over 744 hours in one year playing a video game. 10th level prestige. You know what it got me? Absolutely nothing.

~550 hours got me a CPA license, and that has paid royally. Do the hard thing, get it done, you won't regret it!!

Ok, so I started playing solitaire on my phone in the middle of the night because I am developing insomnia. I couldn't take listening to CNN anymore about this virus and deaths, but I was not sure if I should study since were waiting for a go with the testing windows. Solitaire has been relaxing. My friends recommended candy crush and an iphone. lol

    It begins with a 75
Been here too long as a cheerleader....ready to pass
