To Show or No Show for FAR

    Hi Everyone,
This is my 3rd attempt at FAR, and I am sitting on July 13, 2020. I know I m not prepared at all. So, is it a good idea to pull a no show? The only reason for that is that if I do a no show, I read somewhere that I can apply for an NTS within 48 hours. If I do give the exam, I cannot apply for an NTS until score release on Aug 7, 2020. Now this would not be a question if things were normal. But now with COVID 19, I have read that it is hard to get NTS and seats in a timely manner due to the rush and lock downs. So, I would appreciate any advice from you to solve this dilemma.
    Thanks. Utpal

    AUD – 81, expired
    BEC – 75, expired
    REG – 76, expired
    FAR – 37, 52…

I am not sure if you would be able to get another NTS in the same window if you no-show.
You might want to make some phone calls to confirm that. Or maybe if you just cancel even if you don't get a refund.
If you can't schedule in the same window, and you can't push the date, my vote is to just sit for the exam and hope you get an easy exam, or enough questions right.

In NASBA's COVID update email it said “All appointments after April 30th will remain scheduled and it will be your responsibility to either attend your exam or reschedule if you decide to not attend out of personal concern.” But you should probably make some emails and phone calls to confirm, or just try rescheduling on the website.

Is it a case where you have gone through all the material? Where are you in the process? If you have gone through the material, two weeks of intense reviewing is worth a try. I would suggest giving it your all and show up. You never know.

First of all, you still more than two weeks left to prepare. Secondly, you should probably reschedule rather than pull a no-show?

I would study like crazy, like do as many mcq's until your hands cramp, nose bleed and you are dreaming far. Then decide to cancel. I think you have some time to cram. Hit the high points then move on.
Only the strong will survive. (I saw that on my brothers t-shirt). Don't worry too much, I have weenie out plenty of times only to wish that I went on and took the test. So, Go for it. This costs too much to waste.

It isn't too late to reschedule. I also don't believe NASBA is charging a R/S fee right now because of all the COVID stuff. IDK, definitely would not no show…someone else could schedule to test during your slot. Appointments have been hard to come by lately.

    Everyone,
Thank you so much for your kind feedback. Because of all your encouragement, I have decided to go and brave the test. If I fail, its not the end of the world. I will just give it again. I read somewhere “You only have to get up one more time than you fall to succeed” will follow that. Again, thanks for all of your valuable feedback. I was having trouble making a decision, and you guys all helped me make one.

Good luck! Everything will be fine! Give it your best! You will know more when you are done than when you started.

I studied and passed FAR in 3 weeks… while having our second child birthed 10 days before the exam… you can study and get it done.
