So we took our last exam (hopefully) in Q2 and now we have to wait, wait, wait until middle of August to get our scores. Just curious what others’ plans are for the time between now and then?

I’ll start… I had originally contemplated doing 30 MCQs every day between now and then to stay fresh in case I didn’t pass. But upon further reflection, I decided to get some stuff done after being tied up studying for the past >16 months. I’m remodeling my house over the summer – knocking out some walls, scrapping popcorn ceiling texture, mudding, painting, replacing all the flooring, refinishing cabinets, and replacing counter-tops. It’s so amazing all the time I have for projects even while working full time! I didn’t realize how much of a sucker studying for the CPA exam was until I quit. 🙂

    CMA - 430
    BEC - 83
    FAR - ?
    AUD -

Work out, read some books, play golf, go to happy hour, take then kids to sports practice and museum or two. You know things all other normal non CPA candidates do. I walked out of my exam feeling like I failed again and it was so defeating. In that moment I decided I was not going to let anxiety and worry ruin my summer. I would hate to think I sulked all summer to find out I passed. So like the Purple One Im going to “Party like its 1999” and “Soak up the sun” with Sheryl Crow

Hang out with friends I havent seen in a while, travel more, enjoy new shows on netflix, hit the gym more. Just catch up on things I had to put on the backburner for the past few months.

The unknown until August will be brutal

Wedding planning, hang out at the nearby lake.

Depending on how I feel after the exam, I may try to keep things fresh for the retake. Definitely no daily MCQ benchmark but I will probably put in maybe 60-90 minutes on Saturday/Sunday to keep things fresh. I have two scores coming in so we will see.

    Hey there,

So I've seen a bunch of people commenting on Ethics Exam posts…. Perhaps a good use of time would be to pass the ethics exam during the summer??? That's if you already have the work experience requirements and can apply for licensure as soon as you pass all four parts of the CPA exam. I'm in CA and “Your test results are valid for two years while you complete all of your licensing requirements for the California Board of Accountancy,” so you don't want to take is too soon….
