Here's an update. Just received my score notification. Based on this, it appears that my theory is wrong. Good lord this is confusing!! I actually did “comparable” on MCQs with “stronger” performances in 2 out of 6 categories. And drum rollll..”weaker” on sims.

@Misu243, i had the same when i got 74 in FAR. and this time i knew i did much better on MC and thought i'm gonna fail because of SIMS, but… got lucky!!!

From the AICPA site,

“…Similarly, the third testlet can be a medium or a difficult and assignment of the third testlet is based upon your performance on the first two testlets..”

According to this, the third testlet is not always “Medium”.
