    Hi everyone:

I will be taking my first section at the end of April. I choose to try REG first.

Any study or motivational tips suggestions ???

I’m currently using Becker and noticed I get sidetracked so easily. I’m curious to hear how others tackle this beast that is the CPA Exam.

    Thanks !

The hardest part for me was just getting started. Also, remind yourself of WHY you want to get your CPA and how it helps you to accomplish your future goals. Focus on 1 exam at a time. I think many people overwhelm themselves. When I first started, I only concentrated on BEC and I reminded myself of how rewarding it'd feel to pass it so I could move on to the next and be closer to my goal.

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

Honestly I get distracted too. But I set a goal for myself for the study day (I'll complete THIS MANY sections) and don't stop until I've met that goal and done some MCQ.

For me, the CPA is a chance to make up for the days of procrastination in school. It can put me on the same level as graduates with 4.0's from better universities. I keep that in mind and that's what motivates me and keeps me focused.

Also, try to find interest in the material. Think about how knowing the concepts will help you in life in your career AND in your life. REG will especially help you with tax matters. I don't think I could do this if my mind was screaming “this is so boring!” the whole time. So it's important to have that image of who you want to be, and realize this exam will help you be that person.

    BEC - 78 (August 2015)
    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)
    REG - August 27th, 2016
