So I planned on taking BEC before work got crazy in late January but I didnt study as much as i would have liked so i pushed the exam back to February 22nd.

I was hoping that there would be available Sunday times to take the exam but there are only weekday slots available.

I am probably going to scheudle my exam for 6PM but i feel bad taking off from work because

    a.) its busy season

b.) i just started this job a month ago so i do not want to look bad by taking a day off

Do you guys think i will fail the exam if i go and take it after working for 8 hours?

The work shift shouldn't affect your knowledge. Get good rest the night before so you're not tired on exam day. I would ask for the day off and mention the exam as the reason.

Your situation is a bit different from mine. I don't deal with busy season or work at an accounting firm. I scheduled my test for 5PM. I did work all day but I didn't necessarily work all day. My GM knew what the day was so I went through my motions and didn't take on anything too challenging that day so it didn't bog me down. I think it was good for me to not change my schedule. It was the first time I took a test at night. Usually I test at 8AM. I was able to sit in the sales pit towards the end of the day and shoot the crap to help calm the nerves. I studied maybe 30 minutes during the day, literally reviewed a few things and thought “why waist my time? I'm not learning anything new at this point” I went into that test feeling great. Nervs weren't an issue. I had a high from feeling good talking to everyone and I ended up passing FAR that night.

Wait it out the weekend days pop up later due to other candidates rescheduling. Keep a close eye on the schedule.

Another option could be a 1pm exam? If close by, then you could at least work a half day? I usually test on Saturday afternoons but could only schedule a Friday afternoon for my last exam. I don't think I could work a full day then have enough left in the tank for an exam, but that's just me. 🙂 It's a good compromise because you will not be as tired as you would after a full day of work, but you'd only be taking off a half day. And pay attention to schedule as others have said – spots can open up.

Personally, I wouldn't wanna take an exam after a work day especially with busy season. I'd prefer to go into an exam with full brain power than one that's been fatigued throughout the day. As mentioned above, a good compromise is a half work day. Either take your exam early in the morning after in the early afternoon.
