Take REG in 2018 or wait till 2019?

I recently finished with FAR and are looking into start prepping for REG. However, my situation is that I will be on vacation until October, which is when I start my full time (recent grad). I am not sure whether I should start REG now and try to finish it before Dec 10th or wait till next year and not worry about the time pressure.

Anyone have any insights on how the exams will change?

If you have any study bone left in you, I would take it now. There are so many changes that you might not want to deal with. Next year is a long time seeing you have until Sept 10th and beyond. I think you should really consider getting this over with. At least start the year on a good note.

    It begins with a 75

Even with vacation, it sounds like you'll have months until the last day to test this year. If you passed FAR, that 18 months flies by if you take long breaks, especially with all the changes coming in 2019, there could be score delays and tons of new material coming out. I found it best to do back to back studying, because I took a 4 month break for tax season and it was a tough couple months after to get back into studying. I spent 6 weeks studying for REG.

I think a lot of people are scared of REG changes, but unless you know the current rules/thresholds/phase-outs/etc. really well, you'll be studying the new material just like you would have been the old. So if you don't think you can get a good amount of studying in between now and Dec 10, then don't push it. Maybe try BEC.
