Hi everyone, I take BEC 5/28 and I am struggling. I am currently using Becker and I’m on my 4th week. The first 3 weeks were terrible in that they were heavily involved in calcs for variances and other formulas you have to memorize. The last 3 weeks are easier due to the theory involved, which I am better at. I took BEC one time before this and scored a 69. From what I remember, I had very few calculations on my exam. Anyone else had this experience recently. I am just trying to figure out how in the world I scored a 69 the first time. I also plan on purchasing ninja mcq for the last two weeks of my review. Advice is appreciated!!!

Getting the Ninja MCQs is a great plan! I used CPAexcel and supplemented with Ninja MCQs for BEC, and I believe it's only because of the Ninja MCQs that I passed on my first attempt. I pretty much just used the Ninja MCQs in the last few weeks before the exam. Don't waste too much time on the questions with the overly detailed calculations. I think you'll find that Ninja really helps you understand the material in a different way and things will really start to make more sense. You have plenty of time before your exam so try not to stress too much just yet. Best of luck to you!

Thanks a lot for the info! Do you think it would be beneficial for me to be doing the Ninja questions with Becker right now, or just use the ninja MC the last two weeks before the exam?

I would suggest just using Ninja in the last few weeks before the exam. Go through all of your Becker material and get as much out of it as you can, and then just use Ninja to help bring it all together. That's what I did anyway, and it worked for me (well, I used CPAexcel instead of Becker, but you get the idea).

I also had a few calculation question, but they were mainly difficult ones in my opinion. Calculation wise, I was tested on variance, by-products, joint probability and WACC – from what i can remember. I did have a lot of question pertaining to COSO and tech terms too, but it felt like i was being heavily tested on the managerial accounting topics. What were your calculation question on? Also, did you flag a lot of questions?
