Okay so I thought I bombed FAR but I was surprised when I just checked my score and it was a 74. I had a million things come up right around exam time such as getting a concussion, infection, and emergency surgery.I know some people mention that there’s a breakdown of their weak areas but I don’t see that on the score website. Is there a different place I’m supposed to look?

Also, I’m not really sure where to begin with studying again. Being so close yet far away, I don’t know which areas to really divulge in. I have Becker and Ninja notes. To be honest, I didn’t study a single Sim past the 2nd lecture. That’s probably my problem but I have read that the actual exam Sims are much tougher than Becker so I didn’t waste my time and just did multiple choice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You'll get a score letter in your email or mail within a week. It'll show you how you fared against those who passed with a 75-80. It'll rank you as Weak, Comparative, or Stronger in each of the main areas and the sims.

My advice would be to self identify your weak areas. Study those. Study journal entries. You may not the answer to a MCQ, but if you know the JE behind it, it'll often point you to the correct answer. And lastly, do the SIMS anyway. Even if the exam SIMS are harder, you'll have practiced. That can't hurt.

I took FAR twice. For me, I had a lot of Government/NFP questions on my exams. At least 25%. In Becker, I concentrated much harder on chapters 2, 5, 7, 8, 9.

I can't stress SIMS enough. I've failed three exams…all due to SIMS. And if you haven't thought of this yet, you can use the authoritative literature to help you on the SIMS.

Im in the same boat as you. I just failed FAR with a 73. I dont know where to start. Not sure if i should start all over like jeff says (ninja produxts) or if i should just keep going along with my mcq's.

You will get an e-mail with your score and breakdown in about 2 days. The Sims on Becker are great and in depth. You get much more value from them then anything else. Redue everything including the Sims. You don't need 1 more point. You need 75.

@Jtgebrey – I would reset your Ninja MCQ and start over. This way, you can see what areas you are weak in from the start and really hammer down on those topics.

I'm sorry y'all did not pass, but keep at it! I would say that I agree that people should study for retakes like they are studying for the first time, but a 73 or 74 is so close. The very first thing I would do is go back and honestly assess my studying. Like for myself, I know if I would have failed, it would have been because of cash flow statements and accounting for stock options. Those 2 topics gave me hell in college and I got so tired of them that I just skipped and prayed they wouldn't be tested. Think about if there are any topics that you just wanted to avoid, and absolutely crush them studying for your retake. I also agree with becoming familiar with the AL. When I took FAR, I used the AL for every SIM that I did. Two of them, I found word for word answers in the AL. Good luck y'all – I'm sure you'll pass next time.

Should I supplement with anything else? I thought about just getting the Ninja Ten Point Combo but I'm not sure I need to really start completely over. Although I seem to like the Ninja Blitz videos. I also already purchased Ninja Notes so I wouldn't want to have to pay for them again. Becker's review questions started to drive me nuts and I found myself memorizing quite a few. The Sims should still be helpful since I didn't do them so I guess I have those still under my belt. I just really want to knock FAR out of the park my second time up.

@kcoops44 – the method that I've found works best for me is to listen to Ninja Audio first and then start blasting away at Ninja MCQs (highly recommend these BTW) and supplement with my 2015 Gleim books as needed. I've passed two tests using this method so hopefully it continues to be effective.

So it looks like I will probably buy the Ninja MCQs. I read all of the ninja notes last night before going to bed. I'm going to try to follow the Ninja study plan in a way by reading the notes 5 times (hopefully) but if not at least 3 times. Do Ninja MCQ over and over again and also copy the Ninja notes multiple times. Should I completely ditch my Becker MCQ if I'm getting Ninja MCQ? I find them to be way more difficult than the questions I was getting on the actual exam and they're so lengthy I can only do a handful at a time because I start to feel burnt out. I also feel like I've memorized a good portion of them.

@kcoops44 – I haven't taken FAR yet, but with AUD and BEC, the Ninja MCQ questions were either very similar or harder than the actual questions on the exam. I had a bit of a problem with memorizing the questions at the very end when I was focusing on problem sections, but at that point, it can't really hurt to memorize them. I haven't used Becker but I did have Gleim Online for a while and it was decent but I much prefer Ninja. Plus, Jeff is just an email away and his support is great. I'd check out Ninja MCQ – if you don't like it and go back to Becker, I'm sure you and Jeff can work something out.
