    Hello!

I need some advice. If you had 4-5 weeks to study for two parts before another section expired, how would you do it?

    Relevant facts:

    * Must sit/pass FAR and BEC before April 12th.

    * working reduced hours @ 40/week and one long weekend available 3/31-4/4.

Please be constructive, I am already down about taking so long! Just found out I got 73 in the BEC bubble … probably due to running out of time and writing a short WC one of the three.

    thanks!!

No advice just good luck. FAR is such a beast I wouldn't want to have to study another section along with that.

    -----------------------------
    BEC - 77, 03/2015 (first try)
    FAR - 79, 05/2015 (second try)
    REG - 83, 12/2015 (first try)
    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

Thanks Euro! I feel it is doable considering my previous score on FAR was 74, 68…. but that's dangerous thinking I know! It's a lot of information and each piece deserves undivided attention.

If I were you, I wouldn't study both simultaneously. If you have any vacation time use it. Since you only have until April 12 I would use these next 3 weeks to study FAR, take it 4/1 and then 11 days for BEC.

Thanks mla, I like that idea. Tentatively, I'm planning to study 3 weeks for FAR, take it asap April, then cram for BEC for a week. Both exams must be in the first 2 weeks of April. I'm trying to imagine how did my co-workers do this back when they sat for all 4 on the same day?

I agree. Do FAR in 3 weeks, then BEC. You have passed BEC before. You can definitely do it again with a short review. I would take the vacay if at all possible. Good luck!!

From what I understand the exams weren't nearly as difficult when you had to take all 4 the same day

FAR: 80 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)
REG: 87 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)
BEC: 87 (Gleim, Ninja Notes, Ninja MCQs)
    AUD: 8/27/16

Well when they did all 4 on the same day, there was less info tested. That was pre sarbanes-oxley, can't imagine there was even 2 IT questions, certainly no IFRS.

Get mad, get VERY mad……I've seen it done but you have to have a fire like nobody's business to get 2 done in the next 5 weeks!

I think this is doable. You had 83 on BEC and 74 on FAR and you still have 4 weeks left. you can do a lot in 4 weeks. Use all your vacation / sick time, use 3weeks for FAR and 1 week for BEC, make sure time slots are available at your center. Do as many MCQ as possible in these 4 weeks.

    Good luck !

I agree with everyone else – FAR first then BEC. If you had FAR and AUD, i think you could study for both together, but there really isn't anything that both have in common. The longer you wait to attack FAR, the more you are going to forget from when you previously studied for it. Also, for FAR, don't forget the AL. The above post about passing in 20 days is good too. I passed FAR on the first attempt with 3 weeks of studying, using that post and the content specific outline as my guide. I used the AL for every SIM and it is likely why I passed. Good luck – you can do this!

    BEC - 88 8/29/15
    REG - 82 11/14/15
    AUD - 83 1/8/16
    FAR - 80 2/29/16

I did AUD (74) & FAR (75) in 53 days. I failed AUD, but that's close enough for the point of this thread.

I work in public accounting. I'd work 7:30am – 5:30pm, go home and help settle my baby down for the night, then study from 8pm-2am. Every day, no exceptions.

On Saturday, I worked until 2pm, then studied until 2am again. Sundays were all day studying.

Using Becker, I watched all the lectures, did all the MCQs. I made a Word doc of chapter summaries. These are what I used for final review before the exam. I wasn't able to get through a lot of the SIMS, which was my downfall.

It's tough, it'll suck incredibly. But it's five weeks. Five weeks to complete the CPA exams forever. You can do it. I'd spend most of the time on FAR, and about a week and a half on BEC.

AL is the authoritative literature that you use for the research SIM. You can also use it for the other SIMS.

    BEC 75
    REG 81
    FAR 69, 75
    AUD 71, 74, 84
