Hello. I really need some study advice because I am studying FAR and it is just not clicking. I’ll read a given section in the Becker book. When I get to the questions sometimes it doesn’t make sense. I will get the answer right after working it several times but I worry that I am memorizing it versus understanding the concept. Any help will be appreciated.

I have started taking the questions (wiley book) and going to the chapter and answer the questions instead of answering blind or not having a clue.. When you're looking for the answer to the questions it causes you to read more carefully instead of reading to get it done. So if you have the book open, look for the answers to the questions while you read and see if this helps. My notes are a little more meaningful too.

    It begins with a 75

I finally learned how to make things click for me. I work on one subsection of Becker at a time. Not a section, a subsection. I listen to the Becker lecture for that section in my car when I'm driving to work and whenever I'm in my car. . I read through the book one sub section at a time and while I'm reading I am making flash cards as I go. Flash cards are huge. If I find myself having a hard time memorizing something, I write it down over and over in my notebook. (I have a notebook that I basically use as scrap paper when working problems or writing things out for memorization). I go through the flash cards for that subsection and then I go through and work the multiple choice questions on Becker . If I get a question wrong, I write down the right answer/explanation on a flash card. I label all of my flash cards on the upper right-hand corner “F1 and whatever subsection of F1 that relates to”. Phew. I'm so sick of this testing taking over my life and draining me mentally and physically. So ready to crush these exams!!! I wasted a lot of time half ass studying. I finally kicked it into full gear. I wish that I studied that way this entire time.

    REG - 75
    BEC - 70, 64, 81!!!!
    FAR - 67, 69, retake: Oct 2016
    AUD - 8/25/16

@Jess – I am making flash cards for Reg and feel like I have so many that I'll never get through them all! Did you find youself making hundredS (with an S) of cards? Were they still helpful?

Sounds like we are on the same study “schedule.” Half ass it for far too long, get to the point of disgust and now putting it all out there.
