    Hey guys,

I failed my AUD exam with a 68. When I took the exam, I was studying with Becker, and on all 3 of the mock exams, I got 68-71. I got a little too overconfident with the “Becker exam curve”, but obviously it didnt work for me considering I got a 68 on the actual exam. I decided to buy Ninja and have been using it for a while. My trending is still in the 73-75 range.

I am retaking my AUD exam on 7/18 and have a little less than 2 weeks to improve my score. What should I do? Should I restudy all the material and retake notes? or should I just focus on doing as many mcq/sims as I can? I dont think I am struggling with one major topic–I just think I understand each topic only 70%.

    TIA!

Make flashcards! I made flashcards for every Becker and ninja question I missed. I even include the wrong answers and write why they were wrong.

Practice AICPA sample sims; you will get atleast 1 or 2 similar sims(And these are heavily weighted). I purchased GLEIM test bank which help me gain 11 points after failing with 65.

I studied with Becker as well and after each fail I ordered a new manual and restudied from the beginning. I thought that gave me the best chance to pass. With your test in the next couple of weeks it will be cutting it pretty close though.

@rahee What I did this time around for AUD was to read through the NINJA books and take notes on topics that I didnt know very well, or topics that I believed were very important. During this time I started doing the NINJA MCQ top down and completed each question once as I went down the list. I would do them subsection by subsection. After I got through all of the Books and did all MCQs at least once, I went through and started doing blocks of 20 or 30 MCQs and added in blocks of questions that were trouble questions, or questions missed last time. Before I took the exam I was around 1,900 MCQs completed with an average of between 74 and 75%, and trending I think jumped up into the mid to high 80s.

It looks like you have not studied for FAR yet. I highly recommend that you familiarize yourself with Adjusting Journal Entries, Ratios, FOB Shipping Point, and FOB Destination. Lots of people say that the AUD simulations can have a lot of elements of FAR material within the simulations. With enough repetition of MCQs, it should help you to identify the patterns that they use in the MCQs. Also make sure that you go through and eliminate the answers that you believe are definitely wrong first, then pick between the best answer if you are not 100% sure of the correct answer.

If you are averaging 73 to 75% overall on all MCQs going into AUD and you have seen all the MCQs at least once, you probably have a pretty decent grasp of the material.

Question: when you say study AICPA sample sims are you referring to the sims from the practice exams posted on the AICPA webiste? Or are you referring to the practice exams in like Becker? Just wondering as I've seen this advice given in relations to multiple exams.

@nicole123, questions posted on the website are sample questions. I am 100% sure i was able to collect 11 points simply due to AICAP website Sims. For me, i cannot emphasis enough about AICPA website sims and these are for sure heavily weighted.

Thanks for the comments, everyone! Yes, I do think not taking FAR has made AUD difficult. I will definitely review AJE.
As for the AICPA sample questions–I only see 10 mcq (5 per testlet), and 3 sims testlets. Is that what you are referring to? I actually studied those the first time I took them, and it didnt seem to help that much. Am I looking at the correct sample?
