I recently decided to start my own CPA firm. Mostly focusing on small businesses and their accounting, taxes and planning. However, I would say that I have found myself getting “stuck” on some questions that some of my clients bring to me both in tax and gaap.

Has anyone been in this situation and if so where do you guys go to help you find the answers is there somewhere I can subscribe that will make researching these questions easier? Also do any of you attend good and education seminars to keep with with new laws and if so which are good? I know there are a lot out there but they are not all useful.

You're trying to do too much. Either pick tax, or gaap. You can excel at one, or be mediocre at everything.
Solve that, and the rest will fall into place.

I have the Ernest and Young tax guide, a very good reference, irs.gov. Keep good reference options. It's ok not to know. Reassure your clients that you will get the best answer for them. I don't too many seminars, cost and location issues.
