Starting to study FAR in a week – conflicted on how to approach

So I am going to start studying FAR at the end of next week. I am the type of person that learns more from doing problems instead of just reading over it and conceptualizing it right away. I also learn much more from watching videos instead of reading. So how do you advise I attack starting studying? I am thinking about watching Becker videos first, then reading the chapter and then re-writing notes and then doing homework. I also am buying ninja MCQ, audio, and notes. Should I just re-write the ninja notes instead of the becker material?

When are you taking the exam? It really depends on how you learn. I figure for myself I learn more from watching lectures, then read and take notes, then do the Questions. So far I am in the mid 60's-70's range depending on the topics some I do recall from my intermediate so higher average. Overall, I think your study method is pretty solid. But the key is definitely to knock out as many Q's as possible. I notice Becker has a few Questions for every section/chapter I feel like the book didn't go over so it is somewhat frustrating for me. Good Luck!

    big guy,

I just started FAR with Becker, so I will be right there with you. I agree with your plan, but I suggest that you try keeping a notebook in which you make notes about questions you answer incorrectly, or were tricky. I’m noticing the “optional” questions at the end of the chapter in self-study are significantly more difficult than anything explained in the lectures, so your note taking should extend to the questions.

    Good luck!

I honestly just feel like I am going to start out reading the becker chapters, and then just going to start resorting to just reading ninja notes and re-writing those until i understand them. I barely conceptualize stuff reading over it once. If I understand something (which I understand more visually so videos) and then read over the chapters, usually that helps out so much more.
