When I graduated with my BS in Acct in 2012, my starting salary was $45K as a Staff Accountant for a Real Estate Developer in Houston TX. That was before obtaining my MS in Acct and pursuing the CPA exam.
i am in michigan, working at a 7 person CPA firm doing audits and tax. i had 2 years experience coming out of school in august of 2015, couldnt get a job at a regional firm due to not having 150. NO O/T >:/ (but i expected that one) i made use of overtime as an intern during 3 tax seasons heheheh
although the last 4 young college grads hired here only lasted 3-9 months according to the lady thats been here for 3 years. and honestly once i pass the exam i am probably going to go elsewhere. but for 23, stable income, and close to home i am happy most days lol the work is not super difficult either so i am able to have mental power once home to study for the CPA.
honestly the highest offer i had was for $50k and i had offers from 4 firms. i was disappointed but cant control the pay, but i can control my destiny. and i wasnt about to drive over 40 miles one way to make $50k hahah

@tacctfin11 kinda what i am rolling with. i worked at a McDonalds for 5 years straight and than during the in between time during internships (so almost 8 years total). i have no problem starting at the bottom as i left as a manager at McDonalds and honestly i loved that job but have to move on to further my career but i would take a corporate job with them in a heartbeat, the company really treated me well and makes it hard to be treated crappy in public lol

2014: BS Business Admin, Accounting degree in progress – $37,500
2015: BS Business Admin, Accounting Certificate complete, beginning to sit for CPA exam – $43,000
2016: Same credentials as above but 2 exams passed, moved to new firm – $52,500
Both places I've worked are small firms. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't have settled for anything less than $40k for my first job.
