    I have FAR in two days and completely can’t focus because my family keeps telling me they think I’ll be fired from my job because I haven’t passed an exam yet! Is this true or could this happen?

    Becker fastpass? That's where the problem is.

    The CPA exam is an elephant. To eat an elephant, you must focus on one bite at a time. The Becker fastpass throws everything down your throat in 4 weeks (or is it 6 weeks)? Very unrealistic and makes it impossible to retain the all content (with that pace it's hard to master content for one section.)

    Don't beat yourself up over the past failures. Gather your composure now. Decide on one section. And devote your all to that one section. Have tunnel vision.

    Same goes for registering for the exams. Only register for 1 part at a time! If you register for too many, then you will not have any flexibility in case you want to reschedule an exam or a decide on a different one to tackle next. And since NTS expire after 6 month, you might feel forced to take an exam before you're prepared- then you'll fail.

    Don't fret. Just slow down. And use tunnel vision.

    Motivated by JC. I do it to make God proud.

    @tripin93: I completely agree!

    The class was 8 weeks total. I should have done what others did and dropped the class after the first week, focused on AUD. But I didn't, nothing I can do about it now.

    Now I'm just going to push myself on FAR until it's a 75.

    No you won't! But, you will get fired for spinning your wheels, not asking questions, totally f%%king up assignments, and agreeing that you understand something when in reality you have no idea what the other person is talking about ;). Everyone in public accounting fails the exam all the time.

    I start my position in October as well and don't have any passed. When I signed my contract, I only had to have 150 credits and able to sit. I was never told that I needed X amount of parts by X time, so if you're the same way then you're fine!

    @A1lessio: Haha! I'm pretty sure I annoyed my internship boss with all of my questions, but I think they liked me enough because they offered me a job. Sadly, the job I took isn't with them, but I'm planning on using my same strategy of minding my own business, getting my work done, asking all of the questions and taking notes on everything.

    @jewelzcpa
    : Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better. Do you have a plan at all on how you're going to pass these exams?

    Sounds like this topic is pretty well covered, but I'll chime in with further assurance.

    I work at a Big4, passing the exam has NO bearing on your promotion to supervisor (senior) and is only a requirement to make manager. Meaning, you can go roughly 5 years WITHOUT the CPA before it will impact your career.

    As others have stated, the CPA exam is less important than the 150 credit hours (as I have discovered as well).

    In my region, most BIG 4 firms WILL have a 150 credit hour stipulation, which, if you don't meet it, within 6 months, you'll be let go (aka terminated).

    The CPA exam on the other hand is generally irrelevant to working at a firm. I will caution you with this though, you likely won't advance past senior, without the license. I've seen presidents of my class, who have been with BIG 4 firms for 6 years and are still senior level, likely because they did not pass the exam.

    B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
    A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
    F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it
