Yep.. I did. I took BEC and I feel like it could be ok, felt comfortable with the material, etc. Questions were definitely easier than Ninja MCQs! Sims went pretty well and flowed. Anyway, I am into the last testlet and I see the writing part. And the subject is not something I have ever in my life heard of. Not once. Not in my Bachelor’s of Accounting, not in my MBA, not in Ninja, not in anything I have ever read, heard, or seen. So I start laughing because I realize that I have spent so many years of my life BS-ing 1000+ word papers on topics I did not study, without being verbose, no run on sentences, professional structure, clear communication of the topic, etc. I even said a “yeehaw alrighty then!!” while laughing LOL!!!! And I wrote the holy shiznet out of that memo. Thankfully the other two I did know what I was talking about although I still went for a large word count and laughed as I typed LOL!!

So back to FAR, which I missed by an embarrassing number- or as my coworker said, “like taking a shower with no soap!”. I learned my lesson on skimming things I “think” I “already know”.

A good thing about the BEC writing portion is that you really don't have to know exactly what you're talking about and it is more format/structure/writing coherently. I am sure what I wrote on mine wasn't technically correct, but I at least scratched the surface.

I encountered the same – I had no idea what the first writing topic related to. But like you, I have years of BSing experience! So I quickly churned out a memo about how the management team will engage the Board for further review with the goal of reverting back with a more informed answer in the coming days. Must have been acceptable enough!

Unconfirmed opinion – they just want to make sure you can at least draft something coherent and not “uhhh wut r u talking abt”

Why would you write LOL on the written exam? The computer will see this as an incomplete sentence possibly deducting a point maybe. I could be wrong but i would not have taken the risk. Every point counts, most likely you passed though

I feel you! I started laughing during FAR when I got to the sims. I laughed thinking about all the time I spent on Becker sims and how these are NOTHING like them AT ALL. Omg stressful times. Glad thats behind me.
