    Question? Has anyone ever flagged and skipped a number of multiple choice questions on rhe cpa exam. I thought that if I skip the ones that I was uncertain about I would be fine. I did that on all three mcq testlets in FAR. I guess that’s not the case bc I was at least 95% sure on all others except the ones I skipped. And got thru all my Sims just fine. And then I got the results back and failed my FAR exam. [Now] I will not leave any stones unturned.

    Do you mean that you didn't answer them at all or that you skipped them and then came back to them?

    I left them unanswered and then as I clicked the submission button to each testlet I got a warning about the unanswered questions. That must have been a big red flag from the AICPA to complete all. The first 30 maybe 9 unanswered, the second set of 30 I guess 7, and the last set of 30 about 5 unanswered. Altogether that adds up to about 21 unanswered. Not sure what I called myself doing but I should've put something there. I figured that I didn't want any to count against me. But guess I was wrong. And i mean [Leave No Stones Unturned].

    Yea, don't think you lose points for not answering, but YOU HAVE NO CHANCE at getting points, if you don't answer the question. You aren't penalized for answering wrong, like the SAT. Why wouldn't you go back and put “C,” next to every question you couldn't solve? Also, usually, you can eliminate the answer choices like “pizza.”

    Next time, you know to just put a random one down, worst case scenario…

    B=84 This exam was such a b**** that I thought I failed-don't know how these things work
    A=76 Slacker I am, I'll happily take it
    R=81 I LOVE taxes
    F=80 I don't wanna get banned for an expletive I'm thinking with "yea" proceeding it

    Thanks for your comment. I now know now and can't do anymore test runs. I got to just do the dang thing. I purchased Ninja MCQ and Ninja Notes to help with my review bc there were so many layers with Becker lectures I couldn't complete them all I just went straight to the final reviews. I think I skipped Bonds, Leases, Pensions, and NFP which was heavily tested material. I worked all of the nonmonetary echanges and cost, equity, consolidation, trading, afs, htm securities and inventory to death. I will go at it again and this time I'm passing with Ninja not just Becker. I'm not knocking Becker bc they are very good and I have the Becker Promise always but I need to pair it with other material for any gray areas that I may have missed.

    Yep, just see it as a test run. I understand the thought process, if you thought that the wrong answers count against you, but in this case it's scored as right answers count for you and wrong or blank both don't do anything for you or against you, so there's no harm in trying. But, you know that now so will know for next time…learning experience, on to the next thing! 🙂
