Should I spend a few days reviewing FAR 1-4, before moving on to 5?

I would greatly appreciate some advice from anyone who has written FAR…..

I just finished Becker Far-4. I am planning on writing either May 31st or during June extension. I am having trouble remembering the first few chapters…scoring in the 50’s in progress tests. I think all I need is a quick look at what I have learned thus far, and then the info comes back to me. Should I spend this week reviewing?? Or should I move on to 5 and leave the bulk of reviewing until the end? I am doing MCQs, but can’t touch on everything.

I am doing about one chapter a week. I can understand, and correctly answer about 70% of the questions while on that week’s lesson, but seems I have forgot what I have studied in F-1 & 2 especially.

If anyone has any advice, please let me know.

    Thanks so much!

I think you should continue going on and then save the time during your review period. I was in the same boat- completely forgetting everything after a week or so but 50% on progress tests is still reasonable for now. Once you start your review, things will begin to flow together and make way more sense. Idk how but it does. I was told the same advice and I was confused but now during my review session, I understand the material way more.

It's up to you. At the very least I would say keep doing practice Q's from those chapters everyday. Later chapters will flow back into the first ones so you do have to grasp the stuff.

    AUD - 84, 03/2015 (first try)

I got 99 problems but the CPA ain't one.

I think you should always do light reviewing on what you previously learned before you start new material. My standard technique is sit down, do 30 questions on the previous chapter I just learned, do a quick cumulative or another quiz on stuff I know I'm having trouble with or want to focus on retaining, then start new material.

It's too easy to forget stuff if you learn it one day and don't think about it for a week.

    FAR - 80 (November 2015)
AUD - 73, 67. (Ok I gotta confess I was even more lazy this time around)

Thank for taking the time, guys,

Somehow I was unable to log into this site today, so just checking the responses tonight. This morning and this afternoon I reviewed Becker Chapter1 and part of Chapter 2. What a pleasant change reviewing is compared to learning for the first time. I’m going to finish reviewing chapters 2, 3, and 4 this week. Hopefully start chapter 5 on the weekend. Justkeepswimming, you are right so far, it doesn’t take much to jump from the 50s to the 60 and 70s after spending some time reviewing. Now that June is not blocked out, Im going to push the exam out a few days.

And yes, I’m going to keep at the MCQs and Sims for review so I don’t forget this stuff again.
