    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone here has ever won a score dispute after receiving their score? I took my BEC exam on 2/21/16, and just received my score today (3/14/16) after all of the delays with the BEC exams that people were having. I got a 74. Not sure why it took so long to get my exam grade back but I heard there were scoring problems with BEC this quarter and was wondering if there is anything I can do besides jump off a cliff? Thanks!

Disputing your score has never led to pass/fail change. it is a waste of money and a waste of hope.

i got a 74 on reg and wondered the same thing. i read more about it and saw that it wasnt going to help.

Yeah don't even waste your time and money they won't change your score unfortunately. I know it is painful to study again but you're better off studying that disputing the score, best of luck!!

@Texan_176 you know i have the exact same question. I was struggling during the exam because there were some journal entries that did not need that many lines and i tried the “no entry required” but it would only let me do it on one side it was either the dr or cr. I thought it was so weird i ended up entering “0” but i also got weaker in the simulations and i swear to you that i thought i did way better on the sims. I wish they could explain better how they grade that part because like you said ninja deducts points for situations like that. So confused.

I emailed the TX board to see what they have to say about my situation.

Just because no one had stated a score change was done for them does not automatically mean there has never been a change. They could be bound to a confidentiality agreement and risk losing call sections or being denied a license for several years if they violated the terms.

My question to the board was specifically about the SIMS and how it was unclear about blank boxes. I asked if a person would check the responses by hand and if the response was correct would the blank box point deduction (if any) be removed.

I do not have a lot of hope but to not ask, not know, and just give up is the worst thing you can do.

@Texan, although I am not 100% certain, I believe that there are no deductions in the sims (ill have to verify with the scoring doc on the AICPA website). You can only earn points or not earn them, they don't take away a point for a wrong answer.

It definitely doesn't hurt to ask. I find the instructions on the sims unbearable and I have written that on the survey many times. I doubt they read them or care.

Well Texas is one of the states that does not allow you to even question the score so that's that.

They directed me to the AICPA to ask questions about scoring. Maybe I will just create a throw away email and name to ask the question. I don't want to end up on some hit list with them if the person who gets my email is having a bad day and decides to take it out on me.

You are right, the instructions are very vague.

They should say “If no entry is required fill every box on this sheet with “no entry””.

Instead they say “if no entry is required select “no entry”” then only the first line lets you pick that so if it is a JE the credit side “no entry” vanishes.

Sometimes I wish we just did this with pencil and paper so can write “no entry” and the person grading it knows exactly what you mean.
