    Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone here has ever won a score dispute after receiving their score? I took my BEC exam on 2/21/16, and just received my score today (3/14/16) after all of the delays with the BEC exams that people were having. I got a 74. Not sure why it took so long to get my exam grade back but I heard there were scoring problems with BEC this quarter and was wondering if there is anything I can do besides jump off a cliff? Thanks!

    AUD:71
    BEC:70, 74, 78
    FAR:70
    REG:73,73

Probably not. Cliff diving may help your perspective. 😉 JK. I would say you were on the bubble and someone graded it by hand, but who knows? Take a small break, then dive back in. I have never heard of someone getting their score changed. Good luck!

You should search the BEC bubble. Based on a few posts I have seen, people that take BEC and are on the border they will go over your test to make sure that it was scored accurately.

And if you also search the forum you will note that its pointless to dispute a score. It costs money and also seems to take months. And it seems no one has ever won an appeal.

    AUD - 73, 72 retake 7/2/2016
    BEC - 8/20/2016
    REG - TBD
    FAR - TBD

I am so ready for this nightmare to be over. Been at this way too long.

Just wondering what they would do for a re-score if they had to have a person look at your JE's for SIMS.

I never do the credit side before the debit side but when I passed REG and had to do JEs and no JE was required for that problem I would select “no entry” for the first line and move to the next section of JEs in that SIM problem.

For FAR I did the same and left the other boxes in that part blank because they did not have a “blank” option to pick.

The NINJA SIMS deduct points for leaving things blank and they are based on CPA exam formatting.

I finished FAR with 2 minutes left so I did not have time to recheck this. I guess I will email my state board and get their input on this. 2 of the 7 SIMS I know I got 100% right. Of the other 5 I felt okay about all of them as far as partial credit goes. I did not completely bomb a single one so I was surprised on the diagnostic report to have scored weaker on SIMS. All of my overall test areas were comparable or stronger except for one area. The blank boxes could be why I lost points on the SIMS.

Just had to vent a little. I am already into a re-study for it but if it even cost $5K to re-score the 74 on FAR and make it a 75 I would pay it to be done.

Really what I should have done was change careers about 10 years ago when the testing fees were cheap, you needed a 71, and they gave you 24 months to pass it all. 20/20 hindsight

    BEC 11/29/14 77 (Roger)
    AUD 2/23/15 60 (Roger) 4/13/2015 83 (Roger & Ninja MCQ)
    REG 5/30/2015 66 (Roger & Ninja MCQ(7 hours only)) 8/23/2015 78 (Roger & Ninja MCQ)
    FAR 11/23/2015 60 (Roger & NINJA MCQ) 2/24/2016 74 (Roger & NINJA MCQ) 5/25/2016 83 (Roger+Roger CRAM & NINJA MCQ/NOTES)

I am in the same boat as @samarelli4. The only section I have left to pass is BEC which I received on Friday – a 74! 🙁 Even though the chances are slim to none, I am going to pay to have my score reviewed…I'm sure I've wasted $150 other things.

Trying to get your score reviewed with NASBA and having it over turned is like trying to argue with a woman.

No matter how right you think you are, you are still going to lose that argument no matter what because according to her, if you're wrong then you're wrong and even if you're right, you're still wrong : )

You probably should consider the time it will take to get a review, and on the AICPA website, it basically tells you the score will not be changed. If it is your last one, I would definitely keep studying and not waste the time it will take to review because you risk losing the information you already know while you wait. I know this is difficult, but we are trying to help. This comes up a lot in these forums.

Whatever you decide, good luck. 🙂

@skynet, thanks for the loudest lol of the week!
I had 74 in bec, took it again next window and got 76. The AICPA hates candidates disputing scores. Imagine all the 74s lining up with score disputes in every test windows. To prevent this, the aicpa put in some stumbling blocks ahead of you. It could take months to complete a score review. Money is not a big deal to some people. Anyone with be happy to buy his/her way out of this mess.

I am going through the Becker book and taking notes, doing the NINJA MCQs and writing the NINJA notes. I have also watched some Roger videos on you tube, and if I get tired of all those, then I write Becker flash cards. I plan on doing 100 NINJA MCQs per day starting this Wednesday up until April 12th, then I am going to do the Becker Sims the week before the exam and go back over the NINJA notes the day before.

Hopefully that will be enough. 🙂

😀 – yes. Pretty intense, but I can see the end and I am not giving up until this nightmare is over. I have my experience, 3 exams, and already bought the ethics course. I could potentially be licensed by June if I don’t flake out, overstudy and fail FAR. Haha (wouldn’t be the first time)

No one has mentioned it yet, but I have read on here numerous times that a review basically means they go back and make sure the the grading system was operating properly on the day/time of your test. I do not think that they go through your answers with a fine tooth comb. The simply check to make sure that there were no operating errors on their side.
