I’m looking to take an advanced accounting course online, similar to LSU’s online distant learning program offered. The only courses I’ve been able to find so far are those offered at UC Berekley’s extension program for the convenient price of $1,000. Does anyone know of any other programs similar to the aforementioned that’s a little more cost effective?

Thanks for the heads up marq. I took a look at what foothill college has to offer and while they have the advanced accounting course, it's about the same price as UC Berkeley and is a little less convenient for me :/

I took advanced accounting online at either Coastline Community College (CCC) or Golden West College (GWC). I forgot which one it was specifically. Both colleges are associated with Orange Coast College and you can register for it through OCC. I took it in the Spring, but it was 100% online and I believe there were quite a few people taking the course from distant places.

I do have to note that the course was pretty difficult (for me at least). Advanced accounting is pretty complex and to learn it essentially on your own was kinda a pain, especially when you have online homework through cengage.

I don't know prices but know that Auburn has an online masters in accounting program as does University of Maryland

and they ask me why I drink...

I dont know about online but have you looked at your local community college or private school? I took advanced accounting at one of our small local private colleges in person. I needed the extra personal attention since I had been out of school and away from accounting so long. I was able to take it without enrolling but for credit for around $700
