I could really use some advice. I received a failing score of 70 on FAR and plan to take it again in October for the third time. Is it best to scrap all of my work so far and start with a clean slate or build off of what I have previously done? (I just took this one on September 8th). I’ve been using primarily Wiley but I think for this retake I’ll give it a Ninja kick and see what happens.

    BEC - 84 *
    AUD - 73, 76 *
    REG - 70, 72
    FAR - 09/08/16

I got 59 with Wiley on FAR and 70 with NINJA MCQ only. Went back and did NINJA MCQ's and supplemented (mainly did) Gleim MCQ. Also used Yaeger CRAM course but I think that's borderline useless unless you are really struggling with many subjects.

Got an 81 with Gleim MCQ and NINJA after studying for about 5 weeks with the mindset of starting from scratch. Good luck, you can do it!

    BEC - 80
    FAR - 81 (third attempt)
AUD - waiting for score 8/23
REG - 09/08/2016 - going to cram and wing it

Definitely use Ninja, I have heard nothing but good things! What I did to pass FAR (which I really do attribute the pass to) was writing down EVERY SINGLE J/E that I came across with a small description of it. Then two weeks before the test and one week before, I rewrote them. I also made a nice cheat sheet including every formula I came across and did the same thing with it. I also got into the habit of using J/Es to solve problems, especially bond problems because I hated that topic so much and could not understand it. Good luck, you will kick some a** this next go-round!

@IB553, Yes I shockingly did! Like I told you, I was 110% convinced I failed because those sims were the worst. I barely slept more than an hour last night and when I finally did get out of bed at 6, it was a pleasant surprise to see I passed with an 83! Thanks for your support the past few weeks 🙂

Congrats. Welcome. I always knew you will pass. I also got those stupid sims. But most importantly we passed.

I used Roger's lectures alongside Ninja MCQ and notes. After I finished the lectures I stuck to MCQs. I believe Ninja MCQs were essential in me being prepared to passing FAR. In doing the questions, I read every correct and incorrect answer. I took notes and periodically reviewed them alongside the Ninja Notes. Doing this gave some ‘nuggets' to focus on to better prepare for the exam. As @reallytired said, focus on Journal Entries…many of the MCQs or SIMS can become more transparent with a J/E. Heck…try solving your MCQs with J/E…I picked up a J/E trick to solve Cash –> Accrual problems here on the forums…Ultimately, keep at it with intent, I am sure you will succeed. This is what worked for me..so obviously adjust to your learning structure and own it!
