Is 6 weeks too long to study for a retake? The SIMS are what killed me, i was planning on readying the Ninja Book and doing the MCQ along with the Roger Cram for FAR. Please help guys.

Hey Kyle,

Dang a 74, that's rough for your first fail. If I were you I'd retake April 1st or as soon after as you can find an opening at your testing center. I know everyone on here will give me grief for saying this but you're only 1 point away from passing. I KNOW EVERYONE “YOU DON'T NEED 1 POINT, YOU NEED 75 POINTS” but obviously you have a fairly good grasp on the material if you were that close to passing. Honestly that 1 point could just be bad luck that you got a SIM that you weren't familiar with. You know better than anyone on here what your weaknesses are, I'd say review those hard then pound some MCQs just to make sure all the material stays fresh.

I forgot to update my score i got a 70 this time around and i knew i did horrible on the SIMS but the MCQ break down was better. I know the MCQ better but the SIMS are what killed me.

Sorry to hear that Kyle. But I can tell you have a good understanding on the material since you are so close both times. It could be one SIMS that gave you trouble as Andy mentioned. Who knows how they are weighted. I have yet to take it in April and am worried already because I failed AUD which the SIMS were very FAR based, thus I believe that caused me the fail too. Good Luck on retake!
