I’m retaking FAR in about a month and when I first took it, I knew I wasn’t going to pass because the sections weren’t getting harder as many have pointed out.

So my question is, for those who failed FAR twice, did both exams seem relatively “easy”?

Likewise, for those who failed FAR the first time and managed to pass on the second try, did the exam questions for the second attempt seem to at least get more “difficult?”

    Thank you!

It's hard to gauge. When I took FAR the first time, I was really unsure about the MCQs but I felt okay on SIMs, I even finished every single one.

My second time, I breezed the first, got a really hard 2nd, and couldn't really gauge how difficult the 3rd was. SIMs, though, were extremely time-consuming. I didn't finish them all but I passed.

Yes- all my exams did get progressively difficult- meaning getting a second or third testlet mixed with more hard questions than the medium questions.

When I was studying for my exams, this is something that drove me absolutely insane and in hindsight I wish I would've never thought about it – “My testlets all seemed easy, I'm screwed.” Not always the case. For FAR and AUD I noticed a huge difference in my 2nd and 3rd testlets, but for BEC and REG I didn't notice any change at all. If anything they were getting easier. However, I failed a total of 3 exams and I will say on each of those I couldn't notice a difference in difficulty. Now that its all said and done, I would have never guessed any of the scores I got in a million years and you probably couldn't either – none of us can. I know its impossible but just distract yourself from it as best you can until you get your score. It will be what it will be and you'll move forward accordingly. Good luck.
