Hey guys I’m a recent college grad who is still living at home and feeling a little depressed about not finding my first true accounting job yet but I got some money saved up. Would anyone mind taking a look at my resume if I emailed it to you? Thanks

Try editing out your personal info, taking a screenshot of your resume (or printing to an image file), then uploading to IMGUR or something like that…there's some things that I can't tell exactly if they're weird due to lack of formatting from the copy-paste, or if they are weird due to how they're written. If they're written that way, then there's lots of advice I can pass on; if they're just due to the copy-paste, then it would be pointless to go through them all. 🙂

In general, your resume needs editing. If you still have access to tools through your college, try taking it to the writing center and see if they can help edit it; if not, find a friend who is good with editing and get their help. For starters, besides the things I saw others mention:

    SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
 Aspiring Staff Accountant seeking an entry level auditing position for a govermantal entity
 Detail-oriented and highly-organized with the ability to learn new skills quickly with a strong work ethic
 Proven ability to multi-task while meeting tight deadline schedules and successfully fulfilling client’s needs
 Computer Skills: MS Office Excel, MS Office Word, Peachtree Accounting Software, and Quick Books

Header: If you want to include your objective line in this section, then “Summary” would fit it better than “Skills & Expertise”.

First line: Are you a staff accountant currently? If not, then you aspire to be a staff accountant, you are not currently a staff accountant, so you're not an aspiring staff accountant. To be an aspiring one says you already are one. Also, if you're seeking an audit position, then you're not aspiring to be a staff accountant, but a staff auditor. “Accounting graduate seeking…” or “Tax professional seeking…” or something like that would be more appropriate to your experience.

Second line: I don't think “highly-organized” is hyphenated. Also, I don't think that choice of wording works well. Something about ‘highly organized” just sounds weird, even without the hyphen.

Third line: “deadline schedules” – pick one or the other, not both. “while meeting tight deadlines” or “while meeting tight schedules”, but “deadline schedules” doesn't really work.

Fourth line: “Microsoft Excel” etc. would be a more common way of listing these than “MS Office Excel”. I'm not aware of any Excel that is not part of Office, so specifying Office isn't necessary. I'd rather list “Office Suite, specifically Excel” etc., or list them as “Microsoft Excel” etc., or if you really want the Office part included and to list each you could do “Microsoft Office Excel” etc., but abbreviating Microsoft then including the unnecessary modifier of Office looks very odd.

…some of that is more content-related, some just editing. The editing is the critical part, and should be able to be provided by anyone who is good with English grammar, so the writing center at your university would be a good starting point. The content-related is helpful too, and once the grammar is fixed, the accounting world (us here 🙂 ) can help out more with the content-specific info.

Read over your resume at least TEN times before you send it in. If PDF confuses you, print it out and start marking it up. No spelling mistakes EVER…..

Easiest way is to just paste the link. But if you don't want the whole link to show, you can also do:

<a href="https://www.another71.com/cpa-exam-forum/">whatever you want to have the link say</a>

If you do that exact thing, you get:
whatever you want to have the link say

Just change the link to the link you need – make sure you leave it inside quotation marks – and of course change the link to say what you want (“Link to my resume” or something like that).

That won't work unless we have access to your C drive.

Oh, I see what you were asking…

You'll need to upload your resume to somewhere online. With the .png version, the easiest way to upload it would be to use imgur.com – just click the upload images button, navigate to your downloads file, and upload the image, then you can share the imgur link with us.

To do it a little more securely, you could use either hte .png or the .pdf and use something like Google Drive if you have a Google account or One Drive if you have a Microsoft account or some other service like that to upload the .pdf to, then use the sharing options. Here's a tutorial on using Google Drive to share a .pdf file: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arN-f356KU4
