Does anyone have tips on how to retain this information? It all sounds the same and on each section I study there are like a dozen different rules to memorize. I’m getting absolutely slaughtered on the practice questions to the tune of averaging 60% if that.

Has anyone else had this much difficulty with tax? This is more difficult than even the worst parts of FAR for me. 🙁

Build a cheat sheet while you are answering the questions. Think of your answer and then reference the cheat sheet to see if you were right. Don't spend 30 minutes spinning your wheels on one rule is my point. By the time the test rolls around you will know most of it and the little you don't know cram it in.

I am struggling so much on REG. I can't seem to memorize all these thresholds and I'm forgetting CAPS on losses and rules on realized gains because I keep mixing up all the numbers and rules. I'm taking my test tomorrow and I am already preparing myself for a retake. I feel confident when I am done with a section and it all makes sense then, but I forget it the next day when I study a different area with different thresholds and formulas and it all gets mixed in my head.
